notso, that is a little bit different i think...acting in self-serving ways. to an extent, that is completely natural. that is the dilemma of modern humans...we know that current ways of life support the continuation of our species (other than the fact that we're destroying the planet which sustains us in the process...this doesn't seem to have sunk in just yet...the whole concept of immediate gratification vs. long-term benefits). to be self-serving and not have respect for other species, at least not in the regard we hold ourselves, is beneficial to keeping us around. we could easily make changes that would allow other animals to flourish to a greater extent that they currently do...but this concept is contrary to self-preservation.

well have 2 things to say...sorry!!!!


first ..its because the majority of ppl have the "its life" mentality and theres nothing that we can do about....that the world its so fucked up, not only when it comes to animal cruelity as well as a bunch of other things!! it takes one to make a change...at it seems no one wants to be that ONE just because everyone is too afraid or something!!!

and the other...that i apologize again its that " morals are subjective"...lets put a break on this thought....if you talk about covering or not covering your face...thats something that has to do with culture, religion and habit....when it comes to cause PAIN and SUFFERING....im so sorry t6o say buts its fuckin UNIVERSAL....theres no subjectivity here... no matter what colour, religion, or belief you have...if its inflicted onto yourself you feel it and disaprove it...so dont bullshit me telling me that there are different views to it...why is it ok for example for the africans to practise genital mutilation...its ok, cause afican are retarded, and they are animals...(have heard this way too many times so i know what im saying) so it is OK cause they ARE like THAT....but lets just for a second imagine that a story comes up of an american father practising genital mutilation on his daughter and you will see that for a freaking week CNN will only talk about it!!!

i agree. it typically only takes one brave person to spark change...for better or worse.

yup.

its just horrible the amount the cruelity that ppl can have inside themselves....i read the other day i read about a sort of ritual now to be honest i cant remember if it was denmark, australia or wherever, sorry if im offending any innocent country but it was about a manhood ritual where kids would go to the bay on a certain season when the whales are around and kill as many as they could so that they can become and be considered man....
now tell me...what need do the humans have to destroy, hurt and humiliate just to make them feel superior...what sort of respect does someone that needs to inflict pain onto others or Animals to feel better deserve—?

it is all very primitive. it is what animals of all species do if given the chance...attempt to assert their superiority. you know, the whole "survival of the fittest" thing. right now, our "fitness" is pretty much maxed in evolutionary terms...so we feel we have the right to above other creatures and have the right to abuse them.

this is no excuse though, because we are fully aware of what we're doing and why there really is no need for it. some people just do it anyway because apparently their idinal drives have more weight than civilized thought. the scary part is they don't see any shame in it.

ofa...i became a vegetarian the same way you did. after seeing baby pigs gutted and boiled for a traditional spanish dish, i swore off meat and took it one day at a time. october marked two meat-free years for me. nobody believed i could do it, just go from eating meat to being a veggie in one day. but i proved em wrong! 😛

it can be tough sometimes because people eat meat all the time...so it can be tempting when you go to a restaurant that has no vegetarian dishes on the menu or live in a place with alllll meat eaters, but now the thought of consuming something else's flesh just freaks me out.

if you stick with it, make sure you take a multi vitamin or just lots of vitamins every day and get protein from other sources.

oh and if you start eating meat after a while of not eating it, be prepared...it'll make you sick.

b) to protect they space
c) when feel threatened
d) when hungry
e) to defend themselves


why do humans kill— -other humans and animals—

a) for sports
b) cause its fun
c) to feel powerful
d) to get things they way
e) to invade someone else's space
f) to steal
g) cause they are stronger
h) to force they will and opinion and beliefs onto others
i) cause they want
j) cause they can

NOW....can you state that again and maybe perhaps for once think before talkin and see it makes any sense—

and YES...i do LOVE animals more than i love ppl...animals do recognize when you are good to them, animals do recognize and appreciate the love you give them...now PEOPLE....i can bet you wont swear will give you the same appreciation and respect!!!!

haha i know, it can be a pain. if you get into the habit of it though, it's pretty much second nature. i usually take mine right after breakfast.

for me the issue is really that, at the end of the day, we know better. we find ways to rationalize it and yes, to a certain degree the way we are raised can influence how we see violence and cruelty, but it doesn't change the fact that we know we wouldn't like it if it was done to us. i mean really, who of any culture will agree to being thrown to lions? "oh why yes, that sounds perfectly reasonable!"

yes disrespect for life is an ugly reality but it's one that humans have the ability to overcome.

that is why i said to a certain extent. if no one ever saw anything "wrong" with the accepted beliefs in their culture, there would never be any reform. yes, we are influenced by our environment but we are autonomous as well. anyone has the power to put themselves in the victim's shoes. the question is whether we are willing to do that, or choose not to.

lol Ms... it does suck...but sucks more having ppl has dumb as you even believing in such thing! and regarding how and what i know about you...well i just have a fertile imagination and by looking at your face...well...it does leave a lot to the imagination!!!!
