i indulge in my favourite form of entertainment....comedy. the greatest medicine of all is laughter, no matter how poo you feel 🙂
Yes, diversion works fabulously for every/any emotional spike ... no matter the level or cause.
Also, it's true that ........ everything looks different in the morning ....... so perhaps there is truth to old adages
Tai Chi, if I need to calm the fuck down *like RIGHT NOW*
Or, I just avoid the situation until I can be rational about it. Also, I vent to friends (or dxp 😛).
i either find or hope something comes along to distract me or get obsessed with something else. peace is when i obsess over nothing (very rare occassion).
i also look toward drugs, alcohol, or sex to calm my nerves

How do you calm yourself when you are emotionally upset? Do you just "ride the waves" till it settles on its own or do you try to find some other way to calm yourself.
Myself, I tend to WANT to change how I am feeling as quickly as possible, but it never works that way. I feel I have to ride it out till the currents are settling on their own.
