for hair: keune.
nails: n/a. i clip 'em, maintain the cuticles and put some oil on em once in a while. can't afford the upkeep of fake nails, even though i love the way they look.
accessories: lately i love big bags. they're probably already out of season, but i'm not over them yet. and when i say big, i mean big. plus, the cell. i have the rumor, and i loooove it. just ordered a skin for it so it's all unique and stuff.
as for the tips, i don't know if i want to divulge, haha...
K, well, currently I only use all natural products in my hair. I recently purchased a 100% vegetarian shampoo, Beauty Without Cruelty. The one I'm using now is lavender scent from Trader Joe's, also 100% natural. Love it.
Im not hat girlie, but im still girlie enough, Did you get that?
Biosilk is my fave for my hair b/c its light. Im not that good with hair stuff...im clueless when it comes to hair anything.
I dont like nail polish on my fingernails, unless its clear or french/american tip. I cant stand chip paint and acrylics/gel nails ruin my already pretty nails so I stopped getting them. I did wear black nail polish for a little bit, but once its starts to chip or dull I take it all off.
I like getting my eyebrows waxed, it just such a great face enhancer. Since I dont wear makeup often. I hate lip gloss. I only where these things when I go out to like clubs/parties...not very often. I am VERY good at doing my makeup funny enough. I love watching makeover shows and when the put makeup o the lady. My fave is "What not Wear's Carmendy. I luv her Carmendy; she always got the cutest tops and makeup.
for shampoo/conditioner, i typically use dove or l'oreal and it does the trick. the keune is for styling. but if i want to splurge, back to basics is amaaaaazing. it smells so good and it makes your hair so shiny and soft.
ooooh, i adore big bags. my aunt calls my bag "the suitcase", lol. i can put my life in it!
i saw a clutch bag i want. so bad. a bad bag. it's also big.
I wash my hair well, and I brush it, but it's never been style d. I don't do much with it, but it still looks gorgeous.
We dont have a Trader Joe's *says in her best honky talk*
I've been trying to buy a clutch for the longest, but I just cant seem to find the right one.
Im not a bag person, but I do have a couple of big ones. Whatever strikes my fancy I just buy it....BUT I AM A SHOE GIRL as many of you know. π
omg...i want to use that natural stuff. i wonder if i can find it around here.
""I cant stand chip paint and acrylics/gel nails ruin my already pretty nails so I stopped getting them. I did wear black nail polish for a little bit, but once its starts to chip or dull I take it all off.""
same here. i don't believe a woman should be caught dead w/ chipped paint. it's a sin.
i often go w/o polish, since my nails are nice. i do keep them clipped to a reasonable legnth and file them regularly. various shades of pink can go well with any complexion. i heart soft pinks, which is what i am wearing currently.
I try out all kinds of shampoos...im currently using Pantene. BUT I used to use this natural one my mom used to buy, which I loved but I cant find it anywhere. π’
yeah, i don't wear makeup either unless i'm going out. i don't wanna ruin my skin and there's not really any need for makeup in my day to day. styling the hair, i do once in a while. depends on my mood and how early i want to get up.
""i wonder if i can find it around here.""
drugstore.com = heaven sent
i'm not too good with heels. i do have this one pair- black, peak-toe. so cute. i wear them as often as i can. lol
love heels. love the click clack. makes me feel all powerfully feminine. *smirks*
i have a few pairs. just bought a HOT pair of (non-functional) boots in jan. they didn't get much use though, because of the crappy whether.
*whether = weather
oooh, I just got these lacy lingerie bras. So cute.
skin
i use Desert Essence face wash, which is also 100% vegetarian. it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth!
for my body, i bought this all natural oatmeal soap.
makeup
not too much, unless i'm going out. even then i'll get one of my friends to do it if possible. other than that, clinique's matte is good for controlling shine. and a soft pink on the eyes (for an occasion). if i want to do something quick, i'll take my VS lipstick and swipe it across my eyes then blend it in. a trick i saw on tv a long time ago, i think.
non-functional boots?
haha how so?
oh yeah, the higher the better the strut π
I actually dont wear my lovely heels often. I do own alot of flats as well.
My cancer guy friend says HE HATES flats. He hates women who wear them. He just has a heel fetish.
bras?
ooooh, Body or Ipex by VS are the best!
well they have heels and it tends to get icy. also, heels + snow = @% !&& $ #
I have Felina and Jezebal brand bras.
Also
I believe it is essential to ALWAYS have matching panties and bras.
I dont match them up b/c I just cant with all those crazy VS colors....but I do own mostly black, so they tend to just match up often.
hills and heels = foot death wish
lol But the colors are the best part!
Felina and Jezebel, you say? Interesting. I don't know anything outside of VS.
skin - i use vaseline intensive care w/cocoa butter during the harsh months, and aveeno daily moisturizing lotion for the milder ones.
bodywash, recently something fragrance free and mild. i love all these natural products you're talking about...def checking out that site.
*ahem* VS cant handle these bad boys ...
Ladies
Try Insolias for your pumps? They shift the weight from the ball to the actual heel.
"hills and heels = foot death wish"
lol...i agree. at least if they're tall heels.
I used my Aveeno today, BUT all day everyday is Vaseline. Old school style - straight petroleum Jelly π
My skin is amazing, btb...mainly genetics.
""i love all these natural products you're talking about...def checking out that site.""
i thought you might. π check out Aubrey Organics too. You know, some products claim to be organic, but they still contain harmful chemicals. I try to do my research.
You know Ive been thinking about insoles notos Thanks. What do you use for the strappy heels though?
OMG, I just got my first pair of Sperry's Boat shoes. Suede dark chocolate style . Ladies, Im sorry I havent owned a pair sooner. Must have for comfort; its the style here anyway.
sperrys are so cute! and they look comfy. i believe it.
lol @ Rox...on the invites you should of specified "No hobos".
not sure if it has aloe vera but i know it's main ingredient is colloidal oatmeal.
moisturizer: Neutrogena Moisture for Combination Skin is the only one I like.
for my body there is Burt's Bees (99% ) natural or Gold Bond. Aveeno does nothing for me.
Roxi, I hear ya. I am not a girlie girl, and the ones I know, I have very little tolerance for...
The naturals could possible be out of my budget....but I will see. I honestly buy what I want or what I can find so I'll definitely check into them.
The Aveeno doesnt specify Aloe Vera so Im not sure. This one has oatmeal though.
What do you use for the strappy heels though?
They're called Insolia. You can't see them. They are for any type of heel. But you have to be careful to position them just right.
i'm not a girly either...although i'm sure i kind of sound like one. i'm low maintenance but there are certain things i consider essential. my hair is a big thing.
sucha leo wheels π
Im not all that girly, but I do a good job pretending with the guys. π
I suddenly a few months ago became obsessed with (truly) all-natural products.
No SLS
No parabens
No alcohol
No DEA
oh! and i bought one of those hair dryers with ceramic/ionic/tourmaline hair dryers.
notso, what are the biggest personal benefits of using all-natural products that you've noticed?
Business attire has made my budget and everyday where take a back seat.
I got kitten heel patent leather pointy toes pumps...b/c my other 4" heels are not for this type of work! Oddly enough I get alot of guys complimenting me on my "shiny shoes" lol. They have a thing about shiny shoes it seems.
Does anyone else love Bath & Body Work's Brown Sugar & Fig or Warm Vanilla Sugar scents?! I bought the plug-ins for my house.
Perfume: Woman by Versace
I hate hair dryers...I bought one and its been sitting in my closet ever since. I know there better for my hair, but I just cant do it.π’
"oh! and i bought one of those hair dryers with ceramic/ionic/tourmaline hair dryers."
i hate using any other kind.
*sheepish grin* @ lady m...what can i say?
If I can get one of those new hair dryers that are at those new age salons....the ones that look like a halo is dancing around your head, that would be AWEESOME.
