Pantene pro-v shampoo is good for my curly frizzy thick hair...
I wear gel overlay over my nails because they are weak as hell and tare.
I wear light make-up (mac)
Lip gloss, not lip stick
big bags - yeah, that would be me too
Hate suits unless necessary, however working in corporate I wear lots of slacks, starched shirts, skirts, heels and boots
Weekends, I am a jean kind of girl, with blazer low heels or a shirt.
Weekend nights, dress and heels/boots, or party pants with nice jewelry and slightly seductive top. lol!!!

I actually have a bathroom ritual. I'm such a girlie-girl, which is kinda odd considering I grew up as a tom boy. But I go back and forth. There's nothing I love more than being outdoors, and I'm usually up for anything and don't mind getting dirty.

But in terms of my bathroom ritual (which probably doesn't even do anything). I looove St. Ives (their blue mud and alpha-hydroxy masks are awesome! I literally bought up every St. Ives mask in Dubrovnik when they stopped selling them in the US for awhile. I also love Aveno lotion but I have yet to find a good lotion that can keep my face hydrated in those really cold, dry winter months (any tips ladies?). I also just started using this stuff that my microdermabrasionist (is this even a word 🙂 gave me called C E Ferulic and I love and swear by it. For my hair (which I put through a lot of stress because I have to dye it every month as I have naturally blond hair) I use Biosilk. I also use these vitamins for hair, skin, and nails from GNC that are supposed to be really good (though my nails are still brittle and constantly chipped and broken, any more ideas ladies?). But the best things for looking radiant (and most obvious) are of course drinking enough water, eating enough protein, vitamin E and B12 (which I have to make a concerted effort to do because I'm veggie), sleeping enough, and esp. working out to get your blood circulating.

""You have to keep in mind that they are using those hot curling irons and flat irons on greased hair...""

- When have you ever witnessed someone GREASE their hair? Post-1989. lol

""They are the ones that sit in that little oven thingie...""

- lol, hot stove

""Dominican salons set your hair and then put you under the dryer.""

- AND THEN on top of that, apply compressed heat from a flaming hot blow dryer. Not just any blow dryer.

""They take the rollers out, and usually only blow dry the roots of your hair...""

- If you specifically tell them to do so. Otherwise, they will blow it out to the ends.

""My hair is far more healthy than women who go to black salons to get their hair straightened.""

- Because your hair is probably naturally stronger than those women who go to black salons. Those womens' hair may be damaged by the heat from the hair dryer, blow dryer, curling iron, sun, etc....but you also have to consider that many of them relax their hair with chemicals. So their hair has already been stripped of its elasticity/life, prior to being straightened with styling tools.

"Also, you don't necessarily need a relaxer if you get your hair blown out by dominicans. There is no way in hell, a flat iron is going to do to unrelaxed hair, what a blow dryer can do to it."

Well, we've all seen those late night infomercials with those unbelievable flat irons 😛

Yes, baby oil will leave me ashy in two twos and one gust of wind. I love my petroleum Jelly. I never leave home without it.

""Plenty of people grease their hair.""

Only in NY. ::shakes head::

""Dominicans don't put anything in your hair until after they are completely finished.""

I know. Which is why the hair isn't prepared to deal with the intensity of the heat.

""Also, you don't necessarily need a relaxer if you get your hair blown out by dominicans.""

lol, I know! That's like, murder.

""There is no way in hell, a flat iron is going to do to unrelaxed hair, what a blow dryer can do to it...""

hehe Only in NY.

I know plenty of women with unrelaxed hair (and I do mean plenty) who do NOT go to Dominicans. Their hair is completely manageable and more full of body, bounce, and volume than most women with relaxed and/or blown-out hair. I think many ppl are under the false belief that thick and coarse = nappy, and that nappy = unmanageable. This is not so. It's all about proper moisturizing and avoiding drying and over-processing altogether.
