There is no scientific evidence linking zodiac signs to boxing skills. While some signs like Scorpio or Aries may be noted for determination, boxing ability depends on training and discipline, not astrology. Use astrology as entertainment rather than a predictor of athletic talent.
::smooches::
i'll have a look. i like boxing.
have you ever watched "cinderella man"?
No I haven't seen the movie Notso - But U got me interested so I may have to buy a DVD now. Just finished reading about it though - any movie starring Russell Crowe must be a special. They dont call him for ordinary jobs rt ? π
The place which is shown in the clip is my home-town where I grew up. Itz famous for producing boxers.
Yes it can become boring if itz too tactical.
Put me in as the referee - wanna have a closer look π
No worries - I will give them a wash then.
"Ms Pisces vs Atlantic myst
Notos vs xangelfish
cappysweetie vs Elena"
Atlantic wins. That woman wouldn't mind fighting dirty to win.
Dunno.
Elena. I mean, I like Cappo and all, but she seems more of a lover than a fighter.
Alright, some more:
Pluto's Muse VS. Cap
Agua VS. Leokitten
Archer VS. SB
""The place which is shown in the clip is my home-town where I grew up. Itz famous for producing boxers.""
- Awwwww, you must be so proud, G!
I must say though, the gentleman looks small in stature, but handsome no less. π ::keeps fingers crossed::
", you must be so proud, G! "
Itz a nice feeling though yea....LOL
And this guy is 6 ft - though he looks diminutive in that clip.
DCji aap Pluto ka avatar ho isme mujhe kamm hi doubt hai π SO howz life ?
Yea this guy is quite intelligent in his boxing style - relies more on tactics than pure brawn and bravado. But itz a setback anyways ...hope these lads can bring gold in London next time. He has done some modeling assignments as well if you weren't aware...am sure now he can bag quite a few lucrative offers now ...lol
So Ur mom was a chief-guest ...makes me imagine Ur political clout π
""And this guy is 6 ft -...""
Niiiice. π I like tall men. I wonder if he's married. π
LOL...No hez not but he is only 23, Notso.
Sweet! He's my age! Even though I'm usually more drawn to older men, he will do. π
Alrt...get ready for your Indian wedding then π
OooOoo, how shall I fashion my hair?
Boy-cut, It will help in the ring of course π
lol
"So we actually managed to get 3 medals this year"
Yes Xun and ppl ou there are already exuberant ...well they ought to be because itz some achievement by our standards. Otherwise it still looks like a tiny speck.
"those idiots in the system not played their usual politics"
Sometimes I wouldn't even want to look back at that system - there was a time when I used to get all frustrated and worked up but now when I think of it it looks funny and amusing. Don't even have any expressions left...
"actually not very political for that matter, lol. but official one"
Yeah , I could guess as much - nonetheless the clout still remains π And I see no harm in trying that recipe ...lol
"you are from his home town, did you learn boxing as well"
LOL...am not a Jat U see - and I would rather prefer to study the theory of violence than get into one π
"for an indian wedding for SS, she does not know what she has just asked for"
Haa Haa...I really cant imagine Notso weighned down by all that gold and bridal jewellery - plus she wouldn't be able to disentangle herself from the red attire !
"We have a billion people and only three medals"
We aren't people yet.
" But then again, sometimes I think it really isnt a big deal"
Well, yes if U think of it as a factory model - put millions through an effective/efficient system ( devoid of nepotism ), and somebody will deliver. The biggest difference between China and India is how these two countries treat "dissent" - we dither when faced with it whereas the Chinese simply crush it.
Cap !....Howz U been sweetheart ? π
"What do you mean?"
We aren't productive enough to be labeled as people - most of us are nuts and bolts.
"G i am good"
Thanks for this lesson on Brevity.
Nuts and Bolts Cap ..? Someone else has to decide where we fit.
"We do play different games from what is played in the olympics."
And there wouldn't be too many examples of that Xun. Effectively, therez only one sport which our nation is mad about.
And we aren't democracy either - itz ethnocracy.
I got married last month and Cap is asking me abt my kids - U know it doesn't happen in India π
"What's your wife's star sign, G?"
Let me get a wife first.
"We call ourselves a demo-crazy"
LOL...this one is good.
Hmmm yeah we do have sports but not a system for it.
People wont die if we dont get medals in the Olympics - but thatz definitely a measure of nation's determination and competitiveness.
"not have a good system then they wond find a good platform"
Very valid.
"How far are you willing to change the landscape to fit in"
I couldn't get your question ?
COUNTER-POINT
Yes, we are competitive but we don't have to invent all things good - if therez an existing standard like Olympics and if we aren't there, then are we doing it as a thought-out policy ? It defnitely is a measure of Ur capability to plan and manage a program, but if U refuse to compete, then I would presume it as a dereliction.
"why are we measuring our competitiveness only in terms of sport?"
This is what I exactly wanted to avoid - Sports is only one of the parameters, but an important one nonetheless.
How many games did China or South Korea invent ? I guess they are still in the league.
What about Hockey for which we have gold medals more than any country in the world and this time we couldn't even qualify ?
Medal count is "one of the" KPIs and I for one definitely see it as a positive indicator.
I agree with Ur point that we have limited resources and had we been putting those in right places, we wouldn't be having this discussion. And there are other obstacles as well - man-made constraints : no urgency to copy what is already successful, half of them wont eat meat, no readiness to learn ...
"Or no idea about what goes on? Not enough research or access to information?"
Absolutely - clueless many of them would be. And trust me - there are some who would have an extra belief in pulling it off on their own. Somehow I feel that we recognize success only when itz there and most of the times we have no idea on how to define and court it.
'"So we actually managed to get 3 medals this year"
Yes Xun and ppl ou there are already exuberant ...well they ought to be because itz some achievement by our standards. Otherwise it still looks like a tiny speck.'
Rome wasn't built in a day, Gaurav. Winning medals is more than just having a huge talent-pool, it's also about having infrastructure, that is, having facilities, trainers, and the such. The more internationally-competitive sportsmen you have right now, the more talented trainers you'll have later on, I think. I'm not sure how many sportsmen become trainers when they end their careets, but more medals usually means more money for the sport, so it's a step in the right direction.
"about this girl who was really good at archery"
What would happen to such a talent in a developed country - spotted early by a top trainer and inducted into an academy right away.
What would happen to such a talent in a proactively aspiring country - spotted by locals and quickly whisked away by zealous officials to be a part of a policy driven Olympic program - they have established business processes I would say.
And nobody knows what actuallay happened to such a talent in our country. I may be going overboard here, but honestly what we lack is - vision and then processes.
Nope, but I think a good-sportsman(or woman, 'fcourse) has a better chance of becoming one than a bad sportsman.
Something that I didn't think about: more famous sportsman->more children getting inspired and getting into sports, I think.
"Always assuming good sportspeople = good trainers"
I think Yuma meant it in a non-deterministic way as well.
"but more medals usually means more money for the sport, so it's a step in the right direction"
I agree - itz the same phenomena we are witnessing here. Indian corporates are successful but not the government.
"I guess that may depend upon the country? And culture? Maybe?"
Itz the persistence of thought may be - autocorelation at play in a way. And then comes the renaissance..
The olympics is only a reflection of a nation's pride, it has nothing to do with whether a nation is powerful or not. Personally, I find it is waste of time for China to invest so much in the Olympics just to "look good" internationally. And the over competitveness of Olympics really exemplify thew wrong values, such as the fear and lack of tolerance for failure, and overcompetition for something completely insignificant. The olympic diving is a reflection of this. One small mistake and make great splash, and the olympic swimmer lost like 20 points in his score. For many athletes, its a one in a lifetime chance, if you blow it, your life is pretty much over.
Basically it is like walking on a thin red line, and you cannot afford to tip over.
Well, DC, having met him, you already have an edge over me. Nonetheless, you are going down.
May the best woman win. π
"May the best woman win"
Are we going to have a boxing match then ? π
"The olympics is only a reflection of a nation's pride"
And what is a nation without itz pride ?
I guess I'm the only one who does't give a damn about the Olympics...
And is it true that the Chinese tore down people's houses so they can do the Olympics in the same spot?

Hunting for Olympics Gold
Based on my rather crude research - Caps happen to be the most formidable boxers, or so it seems at least. Though you may find a lot of Taureans, Virgos and Aries as well.
