What if love was all or nothing?

Is Love All or Nothing

Love often involves deep commitment and passion, leading some to believe it must be total or nothing. While giving your all can strengthen bonds, healthy relationships also require balance and boundaries. Love as an addiction can blur lines, but true love is about mutual growth rather than complete surrender.

What if you give your all because that's who you are.

Let's say.

Given scenario.

Why give anything if its not in its entirety?

But like an addiction, is there not similarities?

Is love an addiction. Where half way doesn't count?

Half way definitely doesn't count with me.

So all or no?

Addiction 101.

It's about all or nothing.

Why take a sip when you can down a bottle? Or else, refuse it entirely.

Right?

Has anything kept you from being vulnerable?

Love is scientifically proven to be an addiction. Quite literally your brain wires itself to expect a dopamine release from the other person. This even explains why some people basically fall more in love with the idea of a person, than they do with the actual person themselves. Because the more they think about this person and get all hyped up about them, the more your brain starts to wire itself around the image in your head.

The all or nothing shtick makes some sense to a degree. But not in the way you think. It's likely not going to make conflict and failing relationships any less likely. But what it WOULD do is filter out the people you don't have chemistry with and when you would get with someone that DOES have that chemistry with you, you'd instantly have the most powerful love there is.

Shrug.

Ever felt that?

Nah. So far I've attracted broken people that didn't know how to handle intimacy. It'd be amazing though, I know.

Broken = inadequate?

Well, just read about dopamine and got NOTHING! 🙂

Dopamine is a pleasure reward chemical in the brain. Your brain releases it, to instill behavior with reward. There are also "punishment" chemicals. These basically make up the kinds of chemicals released in the brain when stuff like pain happens. More primitive humans likely developed these sorts of chemicals to steer their behavior in an adaptable way.

Random side note. My name Terramine. Is made from Terra Firma, which is another name for Earth. And Mine comes from Dopamine coincidentally speaking. My name basically translates to "Earth Pleasure" which I think is fantastic. I like the name, it's completely original and has my own defined meaning.

That's really something.

I never feel like an outcast, I never was, and never will be. I am SOCIAL.

If you're trying to read between the lines try this "all talk and no action".
