looking for a little insight from the male taurus

Ok, I've know this taurus male from a distance for a little over 9 years. For most of this time we were in different relationships until about 2 years ago we both ended up single. Now, within the last year to 6 months our paths have crossed (by chance, acutally) quite frequently. We never called each other, just happened to be in the same place at the same time with our friends. For myself, it wasn't until the last 4 months or so I started to have an attraction towards him. I think I was just not ready yet to see him that way, but now it is different. I sensed something from him, but mostly from looking in his eyes. About 2 weeks ago I had called him (out of the blue) I just had this strong urge. Anyways, he was very responsive on the phone and invited me out with his guy friends. It was a great night and both the company and conversation were good. We seemed to be very receptive of each other and surprisingly he was very touchy with me. Nice. A couple days later I sent him a card saying thank you for a great night and that I hope to hear from him soon. Now, since this night I have heard from a mutual acquaintance that he really likes me, and when they said this they drew out and stressed the like part. But, I have not heard from him yet. My question to you males is do I play the waiting game (because I have been gifted with the best of them!) or do I make a second contact attempt? I'm trying to understand if he's just nervous, confused or just plain waiting (for?)
