Space vs closeness

How to know when a Taurus guy need to be left alone and when he needs attention ? If he is distant, or sulks, does he want to be left alone, or does he want me to coax him ?
Does he need a lot of togetherness and affection (I like to give a lot of that), but won't he feel stifled or think that I'm clingy ? If I give him space, won't he feel that I'm behaving coolly ?

My guy is a Taurus, with a Gemini ascendant.

He wants quiet suppport. He has pride, remember that. Be understanding and listen to him and he will notice that you care but not feel overwhelmed that way.

I always had the same debacle with The Taurus Guy, though it's not much of an issue anymore....but even as a friend, he does that "off in my corner" routine. I always just let him know I am around and don't push. He usually comes around on his own. I found with him, he would like to talk about the stuff burbling under the surface, but just can't do it. Tried to coax it out of him once, and was pretty successful actually....but it never worked again. I can be a bit like that myself, and I don't like the awkwardness of putting really difficult things into words, with some people. He knows I have good ears, if the time comes that he wants to talk about stuff.

When I'm "off in my corner", I usually want to be left alone, but only for the first 15 minutes ! After that I secretly long to be coaxed... But I nvr know how it is with others...
