op, stop trying to work him out or be the person he wants. just be you. if he is not interested then he is not the right person for you. if you change yourself to fit his ideal then you'll eventually tire yourself out with the pretence. just be authentic and don't worry.

This. It's one thing to do things cause your SO likes them, but they're more likely to genuinely enjoy the real you, and if they don't, why would you want someone who doesn't think you're so much fun!?click to expand
doing what makes you happy should not mean sacrificing who you are, what you want for yourself and what you deserve. you have only one life, this is your only shot to have what brings you authentic happiness. please don't settle for anything less then wonderful.
