I have a Taurus colleague who constantly harangues about how emphatically she hates change. I'm not a fan of change either but if it happens, I freaked out, then adjust~ like everybody else. Taurus do you feel like you're distain for change goes deeper than the rest of the signs? I mean I think most people will attest to not liking change. Why do you hate change so much? Or is it just a stereotype associated with the Taurus fixed nature.

I think the threat of change equals a sense of pending lack of control - the abyss of the unknowing and not knowing quite what we are doing and what is going on and will this work as well. We like to know what we are doing, be in control so we can do it well, we don't mind the mundane of doing the same over and over again as we will perfect a task to the best of it's ability and/or our ability. HOWEVER, life is about changes and growing and exploring different ways of doing things. And there is something in that that can also fuel a Taurus I believe from experience. Maybe my other placements have helped me. Changes imposed or making myself change things stirs me in a different way. I know now that I grow from change so I try much harder to fight those feelings. Because I always want to grow. It brings new challenges, adventure, contemplation, exploring ... it comes over us in the form of feelings I believe stemming from the above. In saying all of that, yes, I am still comfortable and more peaceful and feel more secure with no changes but sometimes life is a teacher and changes can be good. it does still take me time to adjust and too many changes too quickly will shut me down until I can regroup. I guess it is inherent in Taurus. We plod along grazing until something or someone else changes the scenery. we have our fits, then we adjust to the new experience.

Gradual changes are not a problem.

Sudden changes give me panic attacks.

A crisis gives me a challenge.

A crisis and any gradual changes we have some control over.

As for sudden changes, everyone else is in control but us.

I hope this makes sense.

Yup. Taurus values stability more than anything and change is its antithesis. Change = loss of control to Taurus and we just hate that. Also remember Uranus is currently transiting Taurus, so if you encounter a Taurus ready to to tear their hair out, it's probably because they are already trying to cope with more enforced changes than they can bear right now. I've been much more stressed since the Uranus transit started back in May 2018. It just makes us insecure.
