Btw, my step grandparents were from Norway & spoke with this same accent. Charming!

but if you've noticed, by watching just a couple of the shows, their accents (Norweigians in town) sound just like the tv series, in the mid-west where people have the same accents (ie, FARGO) these middle western U.S. states like North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin...they all have that Norweigian accent.
(of course a lot of generational immigrants from Scandinavian countries moved to the mid-west) and the accents never change even generation by generation later.
