So I'm tasting my latest experiment.
It's close, but not quite to memory.
It's a Roggenbier that is no longer available in the US (and apparently not readily available much in Germany).

Yeah. This is my second try.
The beer is nicely complex, and it's that clove/banana with earthy notes that is a tricky balance.
The clove/banana is easy-it's the weihenstephaner yeast and the right fermentation temperature.
I went a little heavier on the wheat this time, and it still has mouthfeel.
I'll need to wait a bit longer to see if the earthy notes get more pronounced.

Real shame its not as available anymore.

New beer.
No where near as overhopped as seen in recent trends.
The citrus flavors are really nice.

BTW--The Man Cave is open to women, but leave all the relationship crap at the door. This is all about guns, cars, beer, liquor, cigars, farts, and jokes about bodily functions.

I'm into meads. I think we created a thread for that a while back. Cowpuncher had some very informative posts on making it.

As a matter of fact, I have a cyser and two meads made from tupelo sitting in my wine rack. I've been meaning to break open one of the tupelo meads.

It's a Belgian style. Some of the lambics, quite frankly, taste like ass. But this one is like sipping a slice of sour cherry pie.

You probably saw some of it on my Instagram. There's a Belgian style brewery in Bargersville that is just killing it. So freaking good.
