My own use of violence or the lack therof, as in removing myself from toxic situations for most part - and understanding other ppl who don't and their mechanisms, those two things can co-exist. One approach is ideal, the other isn't. And like I said, that's ok.
You can hold two opposing ideas in your head, one personal and one general, and acknowledge the driving force between both without necesserily thinking that a non-violence approach is best considering how flawed we are and a whole set of other individual variations . But I can choose which one is right for me specifically without necesserily making that decision for everyone cuz hey everyone's not me. I may have had the privilege to cultivate or acquire certain skills that the next person hasn't.

Bill Burr's advice was good.
