I'm wrong

Ok.
I take happily sneak my kids into swimming pools that I know I shouldn't. Because I'm to broke to pay for regular swimming pool prices. The most fun they have had the entire summer is breaking into swimming pools where we are not guest.

I know I am wrong but I hate telling them they can't do anything because of my failures as a parent.
Hopefully next summer things will be better because I'll be finished school and working. But then again I will not be able to them anywhere because I'll have to work . (I get it that's just life )


Ok . So I'm also horrible because I just got food from a place and I didn't pay the full amount. I was excited about that yummy bbq but now I don't even want to eat it because I realize I am a thief ..




Am I the only selfish thief here —not that knowing I'm not will make things better.

I promise to never knowingly steal again.


This is more of a rant I guess.

Children will only have fond memories of the quality time spent with their father. Especially if they're fun times, such as pool settings and BBQ's.

No expensive video games, toys, clothes or sneakers can make up for that.

What you have done for your children is priceless...

They will remember this years to come.


And yes, you are a selfish thief. 😉

The lesson you should be teaching "If you can't afford it, save for it, find something else or just go without".

And apparently, your conscience is in good working order-- it's just tardy, and actually let you get

away with the deception.

You go back and pay for the rest of that sandwich... tell 'em it was an accident or just leave it

with a server, or whatever.

I'm not going to judge you but simply say this.

I'm a parent of two boys, 12 and 13. They will become what my husband and I teach them. If I teach them stealing is wrong, hopefully they won't steal.
If I teach them cheating is wrong, hopefully they will never cheat. If I teach them lying is wrong, hopefully they won't lie.

Bottom line: it's about integrity. Integrity and character in general is what you do when others aren't looking. You either have it or you don't. While you may see your kids enjoying their time at the pool knowing you got them in the wrong way, in the end, what are you teaching them?

I get you were trying to make your kids happy...with any means available.

But LIB is right. There are dangers in trespassing..someone might unleash dogs or open fire on them. Teach your kids to enjoy the simple things in life..the sky is the limit when it comes to creativity and it doesn't cost much if at all.

Been there and done that. It feels like crap, and it should because it is wrong, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to take care of family.

As long as you're making a serious commitment to doing better in life for yourself and your children then you're already on the right path to correcting this situation. Just keep at it, work hard, succeed. Never forget where you've come from and what you've had to do so that when you reach a place where you become more comfortably fortunate than others you can give back where possible.

The karmic scales even out eventually so long as the intent is good.

You may know on some level it is wrong, and it is, but you don't feel too bad about it. In other words you are rationalizing a bad behavior. I think you know it.

Are there lakes or rivers, a stream or beach nearby that is free?

Could you not approach a public pool (or a few) and offer to do some work for free in exchange for having some recreational time? People usually want to help and it could be a win win.

Heck really cool awesome inflatable baby pools can be found for under 50 bucks, or on craigslist for next to nothing.

Just some thoughts.

I think it would crush you to be caught or called out for knowingly bad behavior in front of your children, so why take the chance?

Effort and creativity.

...but you will probably be a virgo about this.
