Is this just friendship or something more?

So, I have met this Virgo man at work. He seemed very asocial at first. After a while we discovered that we have similar hobbies. That was how he started asking to spend time together. I saw him looking at me intensely at times. If I caught him, he used to look away after a while, and kept playing with his phone. After a while, he started dating someone. I did not expect him to have feelings for me either way since I am from a different country. But while he was dating, he kept taking me to drives and restaurants. I am pretty sure he did that because I am in a new place, and i did not know anything around me. He even mentioned one day that we were just hanging out and it was definitely not a date. I replied that I was aware of it.

After his break up, he showed up with one of his friends. We talked while he was just quietly sitting with us. After that, he just suddenly asked me to meet more of his friends. He was always friendly after we started to hang out. But after meeting his friends, he has been acting like a different person. He is too much affectionate. He always has this adoring gaze in his eyes.

He has started telling how I can stay in his house as long as I want. He even tells me touch his kitchen stuffs which I think he hated. He usually kept hanging out until 1 AM, but now it has come to 2/3 AM. One of these nights, I wanted to go home, and he kept saying he would send me back, but when it was very late, he kept saying I could stay in his couch. I believe he is a very private person, so am I. He knows that I need my alone time every day to recharge despite being an extrovert.

He also kept saying that I could just stay at his place and study as long as I want. That way, he would not feel lonely as well and it's a win-win situation. He is very quiet person, but he likes sharing all his interests with me which I am enjoying a lot. He is also saying what he feels about life as well.

I used to catch him looking at me smiling before, but now he just looks into my eyes with this gaze. I can't look away. I feel butterflies in my stomach when I look at him now.

I must mention that I was never in a relationship. I am completely ignorant in this field. Is this just close friendship in western culture or he has feelings for me?

If you don't like him then stop going over there and hanging out after hours so late. If you do like him then ask him why he wants you over his place so late. Tell him those are boyfriend hours and your not comfortable, since he's not your boyfriend.

It's pretty simple to just talk.
