I always liked this BDP song...i used to pump it in my headphones as I shopped on Fordham Ave and the Grand Concourse.
Whoa...Fordham and the GC. My old stomp'n grounds. Such good times. Shopping that is.
Dr. Jays and Modell's......those stores didnt exist in Connectict, so i always had the illest sneakers and jackets, etc that no one else had in high school.
Remeber that store ALEXANDERS, LMAO...right smack in the middle of the GC? hahahhaha.I got a tattoo at Tuff City Tattoo's one night. Man, i miss those days too. Never forget the day we saw Biz Markie driving his white Benz down the avenue and Rakim had a signing at i forgot the name of the record store. Dammit.
How about shopping in Mt. Vernon too!
Ha! I was going to say Modell's, V.I.M., Dr. Jays, and all that. We used to spend whole afternoons on Fordham just shopping our keister's off! My friends and I used to get our paychecks and jump on the 4 train. We also used to head to "The Whiz" to buy album singles. For lunch we'd hit up the shish kebab stand with a can of soda or that little pizza joint on the corner right after you cross the highway (it's still there!), and then it was back to more shopping...
Hell yeah I remember Alexanders! My mom used to take my sister and I there all the time and I can remember playing inside of the clothes and running amok around the entire store while moms chased after us...good times I tell ya, good times!
