Virgo ex and gifts

My life is surrounded by Virgos. My ex broke up with me back in August. Knowing him, I knew that he'd never come 'crawling back' or anything like that because when his mind is made up, it's made up. It didn't take long but I got over him and I now realize just how incompatible we were and how much happier I am without him.

Today I had a big change in my life... got a big job offer I wasn't expecting and I took it. He knew how terrible my current boss was and was always encouraging me to take another job, so I called to tell him the news. After the break-up we agreed to stay friends, so of course he was very happy for me and we talked about how life has been for both of us in the last few months.

Then he dropped a big one on me... he told me had gotten me a x-mas present and wanted to drop by my house to give it to me. I don't really understand why he got me something, considering I never got him anything for his birthday, and I certainly didn't get him anything for x-mas either. We barely even talk.. before today I hadn't talked to him since October. We haven't actually seen each other since we broke up. Why is he suddenly doing this? Since I now know he's getting me something, should I get him something as well?

I rarely if ever think about him, and during our conversation today I didn't feel anything, but a small part of me is scared of seeing him in person. My last memory of being in his presence was so painful, so I don't know how I'll react when I see him. Argh, why's he doing this all of a sudden?

Don't get him anything, it's his choice not yours.

I don't buy gifts expecting something in return in a situation like this. I get something FOR YOU. So as to whether you want to get him something, that's up to you but if you do, do it because you WANT to, not because you NEED to.
