I have been seeing my virgo guy off and on for about a month and a half. I really care about him, but since he's been sending mixed signals, I decided to let it go for a while. I stopped talking to him for 5 days. When I finally called him today, he started asking me questions like, Why havent I been called in a week, I told him its only been 5 days, hes like naw its been a week. And he also said I do things without thinking of the other persons feelings, I asked him to explain, he said never mind. I met him for lunch yesterday, and we hugged and kissed and I asked him if he missed me, he said hell yea. We really dont have a relationship, we have sex everytime I see him. But I wonder if he cares. After our good encounter at lunch, I didnt hear from him all day or night, what is going on?

You stopped calling him for 5 days, and then when you did call him, he asked you why you haven't called him.

At which time, your response to him should have been ..

.. your fingers know how to dial ...

5 days went by, and he never bothered to call you ... so why would you think he would bother to care?

Young ladies get told this all the time .. their response normally takes a tone to suggest ...

... you're old, what do you know?

::: shakes head :::

A hell of a lot more about men, for one thing.

I am a "older" still learning exactly this, sitting in a sick realization/learning time right now.............its not just a age thing, and heck, my mom didnt teach me crap, its been called the skool of hard knocks for me and still picking myself up from the ground too dang much, but this too happens when you have not "learned it" "lived it" or "seen the light bulb" even so much, its so disappointing in myself, much less the other "human being" involved.

Don't be so hard on yourself, couldn't you just say that even older, you are STILL open to love (which also opens you to dashed hopes and disappointment). That's a pretty big achievement, many people who are older have shut that part of themselves off or ignore it. It's life! What's the big deal, we get excited, we get disappointed. It's easy to be philosophical about it when you're not in the midst of it. I myself haven't been in love like that for a long time and I miss it... but I bet it will happen again, and then I'll be going, this sucks.
