Virgo Woman rejected my kiss, still hope?

I am a male cancer sun with a virgo rising and for a few years i've been in love with this virgo girl (born in august). I'm absolutely convinced, we are a perfect match, since we connect on such a deep level. I felt like she's been interested in me for some time, because she always seeked and hold eye-contact really long, even though we didn't even know each other back then and some other signs.

6 months ago I pretty much confessed her my love. I think she was quite overwhelmed by it and told me that she does quite like me, but she's only interested in a friendship. I said that I also just saw us as friends, which was a lie.

In the last months we met a few times and yesterday I leaned in for a kiss, but she rejected me kindly, saying that she told me, she only wants to be friends.

Sure, I should probably move on, but both from experience and astrology I can say that we would be perfect.

You think it would be smart, if we just stay friends for a while, so that she can slowly get to know me better?
