What does it mean when...

I have been in a couple of relationships where I have observed behavior that I just couldn't understand and I hope someone might have some insight .

While married I noticed that whenever my wife would invite several family members over for any reason the minute they showed up at the door she would disappear to the bathroom or the bedroom and ask me to get the door. There were other slightly different scenarios, but the general pattern was that she would disappear for long stretches of time.

In another relationship I was dating someone and she brought me to an event where I knew absolutely no one. She introduced me to a few people and then proceeded to disappear into another room essentially leaving me standing around. This went on for roughly 30 minutes. She came back and we talked for a few minutes and then the event kicked off. As it was wrapping up she then disappeared to the bathroom for another extended period of time. As people were leaving there I was standing in a holding pattern once again .

Has anyone experienced this or am I make too much of this?

Jesus (Eva rolls eyes); I miss Judge Judy! I DON'T need to ask, "What is her sign?". Simple. The latter is plain and simple. She wasn't ready when she was still in the bathroom getting ready. You MUST understand what a "hostess is" (she is a rude, crude, dudette) as you know a hostess greets her guests at the door, offers them a drink, introduces them to her other guests (you at the start, etc). She also seems like a procrastinator. If one is a "good hostess" she makes sure everything is ready (esp her). If the door bell rings and she is still in the bathroom getting ready and asks you to greet her guests, shame on her! 😡

First scenario (see the above). No, it's not you. It's them.

PS: When I am the hostess at MY home, I make sure I get ready four hours before the event. I make sure I have plenty of food, drinks, ice, etc. ready. I already know what I am wearing and how long it takes to get "dressed" and ready. I always take care of little details as I don't like to rely on someone to take care of my guests as that's my responsibility. I make sure the house is clean three days prior to my guests coming over, the baby sitter is planned, etc., etc.

The first was an Aries(marriage) and the second was a sagittarius, who appears to be more virgo than me.

I thought that was unusual, but never said anything. Both women are procrastinators so maybe that's it.

I did feel kind of abandoned at the event, but wasn't sure what to make of things.
