I've had my real pic on here before, a few of them. Mostly I don't want people from different aspects of my life to make connections. If anyone who doesn't already know wants to know what I look like, PM me and I'll link you a pic. Or ask Cajun. He knows 😉

Wow, SandyC. That open huh? That's cool. No pm required. Whenever you're ready to post a pic of yourself again, I'll catch it then.

The whole pic thing isn't about being ashamed or not ashamed, it's about maintaining anonymity. I tend to post detailed stuff and the last thing I need is somebody stumbling something I posted that's oddly familiar to them. lol. And then if they saw my pic then that would be the clincher and I'd be screwed. lol.

For true. No shame. Just that a little more privacy works best for some.

For me, just for the sake of variety. Also looking for some cool avatar pics to add, that represent me. Any suggestions on some websites are greatly appreciated! Why should anyone be ashamed of what you look like?!?!?! I really don't understand that and can't wrap my brain around that one? Eureka, I need a picture of a brain..hahaha ...Isn't beauty what's inside a person? You know the old addage beauty is passing...yada yada yada. Anyways just my opinion

Hey LL,

Variety is definitely a good thing. Always nice to change it up a bit. As for folks being ashamed to post pics, you'd be surprised at just how many people won't post a pic because they are not happy with the way that they look. Unfortunately, it's sad, but true.

VV, I'll give you an example of what a small world it is, but I'm sure you already know anyway. But here goes: I went to freakin' London and ran into a guy I knew in high school. Then on the way back I was at JFK in NY, freakin' JFK!, standing in a ticket line and I started talking to this guy and he's like "yeah, I go to blah, blah university" the same school as the guy I saw in London, and they knew each other! And the university wasn't even on the east coast!

Wow, how interesting is that. You just never know who you are gonna run into. It's ok when it' someone you actually like but if not...AKWARD. I guess that's what's so beautiful about the earth. For as big as it is, it really is just as small.

VV, what's that theory, six degrees of separation? Is that true? Do you believe in that?

Oh I love this one. It's the theory that every person is joined to someone else on the planet via no more than or less than five randoms. Although the hypothesis has never really proven to be true, I think it is. Your experience of meeting the two guys who went to the same school is an experience that I believe virtually everyone in the world has had but just in different forms. Maybe some discredit the theory because the hypothesis has not been tested the world over but that is why we have sampling. The Columbia University Professor Duncan Watts put the theory to the test in about 170 countries and found that the average number or links between two people is six. Even if the theory isn't true, it's interesting and makes for great debate.
