When I was a kid they only told us about quicksand and anthrax, no body ever told us about LOW HEAD DAMS. I've been living my whole life in a low head dam rich environment. Now I've got to think about hydraulic jumps on my drive to work. How is a kid meant to get the proper sleep he needs for brain development in life when he's gotta think about the super critical flow transferring back to the sub critical flow and causing a hydraulic jump. LOW HEAD DAMS are everywhere folks, there's one in your neighborhood!!! If someone told you there was quicksand in your neighborhood you'd be down there shooting that quicksand until it was dead sand. Stay alert folks and stay away from low head dams.
