So, reading Linda Goodman's sun signs, she explains for the aquarius guy (and most likely, girl) that they never forget or compare anyone to their first love. Is this true of Aquarians? Even if the person you're married to now, or happily committed, you never forget your first love or they pale by comparison or something? I just heard my best friend, who's aqua say this to me and I was like hm...

For some odd reason, I thought it meant that they won't compare to your first boyfriend/girlfriend, which admittedly for most is probably not a super great love considering it'd probably be in middle school or high school. Ha..

In some respects yes. Might entirely be dependent on the aquas ability to compartmentalise the experience from that first love. I'll always love her and be there for her because I'm grateful I got to share so much with her. Take everything away she is still a great friend and it's not something I'll throw away so easily.

The few relationships after that I do find myself comparing others to her but if anything I realised it was closing me off from newer experiences. I do agree too nothing CAN compare to that first love. It's a unique experience but I've had different and better experiences since then.

^ I agree. For me personally, whenever I think of a first kind-of love I felt for the opposite sex it always reverts to a guy friend of mine & a simple nice gesture he did for me in the past. I had a troubled childhood & ran away during my adolescence -- he made me breakfast & played my favorite movie for me lol. It was SO simple, but at the time I felt it was the most thoughtful thing anyone could do for me during a bad time in my life. Even though I've had 10x more romantic & fairytale-ish experiences after that, for some reason that's the most memorable. Here's what Linda says about it:

ABOUT AQUARIUS FEMALE: "Are you wondering whether that Aquarius girl you once knew still remembers you? The answer lies in her definition of love. It could have something to do with the first boy who gave her a bunch of sweet peas when she was nine-the boy who walked her through the park in the rain-or the one with the funny ears who knew the clown at the circus, and used to feed her peanuts."

ABOUT AQUARIUS MALE: "...the Aquarian will never forget his first love. (Not the first date, but the first girl who ever gave him a rainbow. There's a difference.) Uranians frequently marry childhood sweethearts years later, or cling to a faded illusion. An Aquarian can usually describe his first love in detail, which can be annoying to a wife. The solution is to be that first love. You may have to wait a long time to wear orange blossoms, but at least you won't be replaced by a ghost."

I agree w/ her aqua female description & how it depends on how we define love. I used to associate LOVE for the opposite sex as only being romantic & so thought I must love this friend if that memory sticks w/ me. But later realized it wasn't an "I want to marry you" (because I don't) or "I love you like a brother" (because I don't either lol) type of love. Hard to describe, I just know it falls under a different subcategory of love that I can't really explain. But all in all -- that first sentimental experience no matter how little it is -- we'll always remember 🙂

I don't think this has anything to do with first love because if your first love was a lover from hell whose bad deeds outweighed his good, then surely no one would miss them, maybe a cancer would, but not aqua.
I remember every sweet, cute, selfless thing anyone (both genders) has done for me. I guess you can call aquas grateful. I don't think anyone could ever call me ungrateful. In grade 11, when I had my wisdom teeth surgery, I went to school the next day constantly drooling like a baby. I had one friend who shared her lemon muffin with me, which I slurped. She baked the muffin btw. I highly enjoyed it but too bad I couldn't derive full enjoyment due to the surgery. The next day, this same friend bought me a box full of those lemon muffins. That was the sweetest thing anyone ever did for me. I had tears in my eyes when she handed me the box. I still remember her and I tried to hold onto her friendship for as long as I could. Years later I found her on LinkedIn.com and added her. No matter what, I have a soft spot for her and pretty much anyone who has done me a kind gesture.

Awww, I like that story! That was thoughtful of her. Yeah, I think the memory that sticks w/ us is probably the most thoughtful thing someone has done for us. Was that the first thoughtful thing someone did for you that stuck to you? I agree that it's not the typical kind of "first love" people associate w/ romance & marriage, but another kind. Love for humans, perhaps? Lol

Thanks for appreciating the story. I don't think that was the first thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me. I think it's the little genuine acts of kindness that touches and leaves a footprint on aquas' heart. I really think aquas love humanity because I don't cry usually but I'll cry when I see a genuine act of kindness either done for me or someone else. I saw my cold hearted older bro (who doesn't usually do nice things) become a gentle soul for a second to defend my younger bro when he was cornered by everyone. That stuck with me. Or when I see videos like a dog pulling another injured dog to the side of the road so it doesn't get run over by cars, it makes me feel all mushy. Lol
