Aqua's are typically very awkward in receiving gifts, at least I am lol
Even if I'm genuinely happy and surprised about what I got, I feel pressured to show that to the gifter (especially if the presents are very special or expensive), which ends up looking fake and exaggerated (even though my joy was sincere) :/ Yeah well, I can't deny that we really do suck at showing emotions. So, I usually try to avoid receiving many gifts, but I do really enjoy giving. Anyway, excuse us Aquas, even if we fail to show it to you, we are very touched when someone does something for us, or gifts us with something unique 🙂

I loved the way he responded to my Christmas gift, but I understand the apprehension. I don't think any of his gazillion "friends" send him gifts, so I think he'd at least appreciate the thought. But I can see why he might feel pressured to react in a way that wouldn't disappoint me.
Should I just let him be then, and wait for him to open it whenever he feels like it without a gentle nudge? At some point it's kind of inconsiderate to leave it unopened, isn't it?
@Spooky926 definitely don't take it personally if he needs some time. The situation actually reminds me a lot of something my male aqua friend told me. He also received a huge gift box from his gf for his birthday, and he was super awkward about it and insisted on waiting a whole month to open it when she is with him. So yeah, aquas generally don't mean being inconsiderate, just be sure that probably he really does appreciate your gifts, even if he's kind of awkward about showing it 😉
I love giving gifts and it's more exciting to watch them open it but I am not like that about receiving. I think it has to do with how we aren't very good at being fake, if say it was something we didn't like.
Or rather, we can be fake but feel guilty perhaps.
That's the way I am.. I'm excited but also anxious.

How do aquas typically deal with receiving gifts? Excited about it, hate it, awkward...?
I get VERY excited about giving gifts and can;t wait for the recipient to open them, especially if it's a unique gift or something I put a lot of work into. For Christmas I sent a close aqua friend a gift I thought was pretty awesome, and he didn't even open it until the next day. He went bananas over it, but said something along the lines of not wanting to open it in front of other people in case he didn't like it or something.
I sent the same friend a birthday present, and his birthday was yesterday. Once again, more than a day later he still hasn't opened it, or at least mentioned that he's opened it. This time I know he's alone. Is this a typical Aqua thing, or just something unique to this person? I know I can't have expectations of other people when it comes to gifts, he didn't ask me to send him one, and he can damn well open it whenever he wants. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that he's not more excited to see what I sent him, considering how crazy he went over my Christmas gift.
