I just went on a date with one last night. Met him online and this was our first meeting.
This is how it went:
Planned to meet at this cute quaint cocktail bar earlier in the week.
Confirms the day before. The day of we don't talk at all.
I end up running behind on my errands for the day and text him to ask if we could push back to 8:30.
He responds with a message like this: Sorry for the late reply, just leaving work.
But I forgot my friend wanted me to grab a drink with him today for his birthday. Going to a bar on west 4th, you can come with me, it's not a group of people at all. Or we can reschedule for another day, just you and I. Wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable.
I still had time to get ready so I told him I would get ready and let him know.
When I was done I let him know I was still down and went to meet him. When I meet him there's only one friend with him and he says it's his best childhood friend and his bday is Monday.
We go and do hookah and have some drinks. The three of us.
I was a bit thrown off because I didn't think it would be just one friend. We did have great convo, he was open. Wants to get married and is a hopeless romantic. I touched him a few times and he put his arm around me. It's was a quick meeting maybe two hours.
When it was said and done he made an excuse of having to go to the bathroom after he walked me to the train (well thought out) so he didn't have to ride with me. He said I want to see you again and text when you're home. I did and he said next time it will be me and him.
I had fun but I am a bit confused. What happened there?
