I remember a long time ago when I looked into numerology, started getting into astrology and what not. Most of what was read to me - by myself and others always pointed to one thing. That I had the ability to lead, or that eventually I'd have no choice but to lead, or that I should lead for the sake of others given my chart and that of a 11 life pather.

I always assumed most people are quite capable. Not sure when it all started but I've had to take charge of my own life from pretty early on. A lot of people can't relate when I say I had two choices: 1) Keep trying 2) Give up and die. I literally only had those two choices growing up. In retrospect it's made me into this weird version of a perfectionist. Always finding the most efficient and effective way of completing any task I'm given (probably because I'm lazy as well).

This year in particular my role involved training new 'leaders' within the company and it really amazes me that quite a lot of people dislike conflict. They seem to ignore the not so desired qualities in the workplace to have an upkeep of appearance. I've also noticed there's a lot of responsibility blaming or shifting rather than actual problem solving.

I for one don't consider myself a leader and there are nights where I just sort of ask myself: Why am I always the person they rely on to keep their own lives functioning?

Most of the Aquarius people I've worked with are generally quite good at working things out for themselves but majority of them like to shift the blame. Most of them are really vocal about injustices but not many of them are willing to solve the problem.

Maybe I'm being too harsh but I know we are all blunt as hell but I also believe as a sign that speaks up shouldn't we all practice in trying to solve the problem? Some problems obviously can't be addressed and if that's the case shouldn't we accept them?

*shrugs* Are you a leader or are you a complainer or are you contempt with being a sheep?

Which is why I don't consider myself a leader. I've never wanted to be one. I fully admit to being more self-centred than others.

My complaint here is why am I automatically the leader, I consider my role as just fixing stuff and make sure things run. If I can work out things for myself given that it's my position to do that then why is it that others cannot? They were all promoted because they had leadership potential.

Obviously this is a challenge I have to overcome just as with any position there are challenges for each individual to overcome. I speak out when things aren't just but I also implement systems to address the issues I raised.

I don't doubt my own abilities or what I can do but there's one thing I don't want to do and that is making people believe in themselves, they either do or they don't.

Well its a lie if i say i never dream to be a leader but you understand we aquas are eccentric beings, we love our freedom & eccentricity so its hard to put on that stern image as a leader. HOWEVER, looking at the disgusting practice of organizations & the World now where subordinates are treated like absolute thrash most of the times, i refuse to submit myself to that treatment & start my own career. Everyone has a choice aren't we? If you think your leadership can ensure fairness & give your colleagues more happiness which i am sure aquas possess those qualities, so why not take up the leadership role? Just be yourself even if you are the leader. Its not the role that define u but your character that defines your leadership.

Okay that sounds a bit mean but I give them resources and coach them to the best of my abilities.

People still doubt themselves, I just don't know why.
They doubt themselves probably due to their growing up environmemt, i am a victim of that too which i am correcting now. You mentioned that you grew up in an environment with limited choice, either move forward or die. In the process you are essentially trained to have faith in yourself & eliminate any doubts. Those folks who have people surrounding them who do not give enough reassurance will cause them to feel insecure about themselves. As a leader, you have to instill that confidence in your people because with confidence they can get the task done better. Give them more assurance & encouragement, value their effort which will make them feel appreciated,

On the job front I do encourage and provide support for those I'm put in charged with. A lot of what I wrestled with are people's personal problems that inevitably leaks through and affects their ability to work.

Do I care about them? Yeah I do and apparently that's my downfall according to my bosses.

I can either coach them or offer advice on how to deal with them or tell them they jobs are in jeopardy or offload and delegate tasks to other team members which of all 3 I've done. You're right in saying I've either had to succeed or fail because I've been at jobs that are much more cut throat than what it currently is. There really is no time to mope around. As much as I want to care about those I'm leading there's a part of me that dislikes being the one to help them believe in themselves.

Maybe it's my way of saying "hey it's your life, what do you want to make of it?"
