Should I be flattered or insulted?....

So I'm Leo and he's Aqua. We've been together for 3 years now. He often says that I was a challenge and that's what attracted him in the first place. The chase.
Now last night we were sitting and having an open casual chat about our ex's. He mentioned what he liked and disliked about the significant ones in his past and so the convo went on....
He's pretty fussy about a woman's looks - turned down a beautiful girl (well in my opinion anyway) simply because she had a mole with hair growing out of it on her chin!?
I don't think I come even close to her in beauty so I asked him why the heck he fell for me....surely not my looks if you could turn HER down— With a grin he said yip, I fell for your wit and intelligence.
As a LEO this is like a bit of ouch.
But then again perhaps from him it's more of a compliment?

I think he was teasing you. You said yourself he is fussy about a womans looks. Therefore you are beautiful in his eyes. 🙂

he's an aqua. he was f'in with you while being honest. in a way, it was a crappy comment cause i'm sure you look great but what he values most has nothing to do with your moleless chin.

Well whatever he meant so be it. I'm happy with who I am.
I replied saying that I fell for him because he had lovely dogs.
And I DID HONESTLY! I loved them long before I even liked him!
Ha ha...and now 3 years later they love me more than him!! ha ha ha
