what gives?

So I've been reading all the helpful insights on this board for a while, and have been so struck by the support, encouragement, and help people give each other. I finally decided to take the plunge and post something yesterday, ("Aries seeks advice, part 1 and 2") and I have been saddened to have recieved no response or insights while posts posted after me have gotten plenty of responses.. Is my story so typical that it just doesn't need a response? Is it because I'm new? I'm asking for help here!
