When people give you compliments.

How do you receive compliments? Do you revel in them or are they awkward like holding someone's baby and not knowing what to do with it?

For me it's the latter but I do have mixed feelings. I hate getting compliments because I notice some people give me thoughtless/baseless compliments and I can see that they're trying to manipulate me and it makes me very suspicious of these types of people, like I'm very self aware so I know what I am and I know what I'm not so if someone just gives me a compliment that is just stupid chances are I'm gonna hate them...

I was going to go on a date with this guy and we were chatting and shit and he just wouldn't stop complimenting me and you might think I have low self esteem for turning him down (I was asking myself if I do as well) but it's just something that puts me off when I'm trying to establish a connection with that person, I find it tacky to give an absurd amount of compliments when you're courting someone.

There are times though when I get a compliment and I'm like wow and it gives me a new sense of awareness and I appreciate that persons observation, those types of compliments I like to play over and over in my head.

So yeh what are you like?!?

I notice Leo's will absorb anything you give them...

Whenever I complimented the Aqua I was fuckin around with he seemed to feel on top of the world. It was the sweetest thing ever.

When i was younger someone would compliment me i just say i know?i was arrogant but thats maybe because i know what i am and what not

Hahah I'm like that sometimes in my head I'll say "I don't need you to tell me" I'm arrogant but I always try and come off as humble

What is not to like about a compliment? Does it make you feel analyzed? Does it make you uncomfortable to have that kind of attention on you?

Sometimes it does make me feel like I'm under a microscope...

I'm mainly looking for genuine compliments, well thought out, sometimes it can have an opposite effect on me if it's not genuine or thought out....

I also hate the feeling after I've been complimented, the feeling of obligation to throw them a bone back but I got nothing lol

depends on: if it,s a good friend or family member it,s okay, sweet. but i cannot say much more than thank you.. i often blush.

as long as it,s honest. i don,t like being overwhelmed with compliments by anyone - i feel as so is kidding me..

same in the office with my boos.. i say thank you and try to explain what i could have done more or better.

if my love/crush is complementing me i often do not know how to reply..i get shy and blushed..

i am not good at giving compliments although i think a lot about all the things i,d like to say about him.

i am better in showing or express than speaking them out.

i like deep compliments more than kind of superficial.. as i give more deep compliments;

"i like the sound of your voice" "waking up next to you made my day" etc.

Compliments are good only if they are genuine.
