aries woman dates cancer man

I am an aries female with moon in cancer dating a man 8 years my senior (i'm 32 he 40) with sun in cancer and moon in aries.
my venus in aquarius mars in gemini
his venus in gemini and mars in gemini

can this work? we have gotten pretty serious very fast and I'm nervous because of the incompatiblity between aries/cancer.

My uncle is Cancer and he is married to a Aries woman. They seem very happy and why do you think it's a bad combo ?. My uncle and i are great friends and i can some along with many Cancers in my inviroment🙂.
