Anybody ever have that feeling where you thought you'd actually would be farther along in your life than you actually are? I thought by 25 I would have my own place, settle down, and get ready for a happy married life(I know that's an oxymoron to some, but I live in a fairytale I suppose). All I can say is that I've done some things here and there that the average person my age has already accomplished, yet I feel so far behind. Life sucks, I'm single now, still working at the job I hate and still haven't even finished my associate's which I should have done 2 years ago. What is it with me? Is it my childish arian character wanting to live like Peter Pan? Have I procrastinated too much out of fear and anxiety, instead of going after what I really want I'm living "contently" with what I hate? Do any of you know this feeling? God, I'll be 26 come the 30th of March and it scares me to no end. Does life just slip away with age before you can grasp anything? Or is this just the beginning of the road to the true meaning of life and self?

How about tomorrow, you sit down and do something for yourself, something you love. It doesn't matter what it is, so long as it's a treat to yourself.

Then look at it, smile .. and remember that every tomorrow you have, you will also have a yesterday to look back on to see where you've been. And if everyday you have something, no matter how small, to look at and smile .. then all your memories of yesterday will give you the encouragement to make another day to enjoy.

I have the same crisis. No, its definitely not a problem of procrastination. If anything, its your lack of faith in time and that things will work out for the best in the end. Time will inevitably slip away whether the moment is happy or sad. But there is always an opportunity to make the best of everything. You always have time to change your life even if it is the last day of your life.

aries ignited, I know exactly how you feel. When I left school I thought by 26 I'd have most things figured out and be with my soul mate and live happily ever after. But sometimes it doesn't work out that way. I love PA's advice. And when I look at friends who have been with their partmers for years I'm not jealous because they have a new set of problems that I don't have to worry about. Life's lessons come in many forms. Life is what you make it, and sometimes you go through periods that seem bereft of any happiness, but you come through the other side and appreciate the good things you have even more.

If it's any consolation, I hate my job as well, I didn't think I'd be doing this heap of shit after gaining my degree. But I've met some good people through it so it's not all bad.
