I think if your willing to learn about the other person and taken heed from what you learn, any relationship can work. It's a matter of what your tolerence is and nothing worth having comes easier or requires no work.



I was married to a scorp for 30+ years. What finally ended it was her refusal to compromise, or even talk about our problems. She would simply stare at me. She wanted total control, and when that didn't happen, she set about trying to drive me away, and actually destroy me.

I don't want to leave you with the impression that it was all her fault, of course it wasn't. But when I could no longer give any more, and she refused to recognize that I was at the end, that is when if all fell apart. On the other hand, I sometimes wonder if getting rid of me wasn't what her ultimate goal was, anyway. Whatever, our relationship ended very badly.

As noted in the quoted comment, learning is key. Also, a willingness to adapt and compromise is an absolute necessity. It can be a real struggle.
