Hi everybody, I'm new to this site!

I was just wondering if anyone has any information/insights about how it is to have masculine signs with a feminine ascendant. I've looked at my natal chart and I'm a Leo, with Aquarius in moon, Leo in mercury, Libra in venus and Capricorn in mars. And my Ascendant is Cancer. So it seems my only feminine signs are my mars sign and my ascendant. Is that supposed to be unfortunate or something? Thanks in advance :/

Yeah I feel mostly fine too, but sometimes I'm also more shy/introvert (against my own will) and thought it had something to do with the Cancer ascendant...

Hmm. Well I'm not really shy or any of that nonsense. But I do think having a masculine Sun in Fire, and then having a feminine Ascendant in water, sends contradictory messages about you to other people.

For example, I'm actually very open and friendly...but by looking at me, people think I'm really shy or stuck up.
Also, when I first meet someone it takes me a little while to open up to them completely. I usually spend some time watching them and feeling them out first. I probably seem very reserved at first. But then, once you get to know me, it surprises you how I'm totally opposite of your first impression of me.

I am a Leo sun with an Aqua ascendant (they oppose each other). I do just fine for myself but I do notice that sometimes the image I project to others (aqua) can make me come off as much more quirky and detached than I really am. When I first meet people they totally see the aqua in me. They see my fashion sense and there is an airy quality to me. I seem to flit about in social situations and I like to get friendly with others but it rarely gets deep. Now, that drives the Leo part in me kinda nuts because I LOVE getting close and deep with people. So, yeah, sometimes there's a conflict but mostly I do well for myself and I am still able to make profound connections with others.

I know a Leo sun/Aqua moon person and they also have inner conflicts with this opposition aspect. They often swing between wanting to be married and wanting strictly FWB relationships. She's passionate, possessive, and jealous yet she's terribly afraid of losing the freedom she has as a single person. She's probably more confused in that department than I am and I have a Virgo moon which isn't compatible with Leo or Aqua at all. Actually, I'm not confused at all when it comes to love.

I am also a Saggy with a water(Cancer) ascendant.
I don't like it one bit!
When people first meet me they think I'm all soft and gooey.
Which I am a little....

Are you a Leo dude, btw??

You're like an endangered species here. πŸ™‚

Haha! Yeah I read through some posts and got a bit of that impression... Well, well...
Anyway, my thoughts were that if one has a very extroverted/masculine astrology but with a feminine ascendant they would get that conflict because feminine signs gravitates while masculine ones levitate... I found some stupid site that was writing about it too...

Anyway, why are people attacking the Lion? :/

I'm a Pisces Sun with a Pisces Rising... lol No contradiction there. MY contradictions (and peoples' misconceptions) come from my other planets, which give me a ton of Fire and Earth and overpowers my Water. heck, I think even my Air outranks or is equal to my Water.

BTW.. astrologists say that if you read horoscopes, you should read the one for your Ascendant, NOT your Sun, for more accuracy. I cannot test this theory, cuz, well.. it's always been the same for me and was never an issue.

Funny you should mention this with your friend who has that relationship conflict. I'm together with a girl now and I feel exactly the same, that one part of me wants more intimate, inner, romantic etc contact, while my aqua moon makes me think we're only in a FWB relationship... I was thinking about this right now, and found out my problem can be that I don't make friendships/relationships LAST. The aqua part gets more independent while the dramatic leo (sometimes living in the past) starts thinking about old friends and relationships... Lol!

Yay πŸ™‚

& that website basically says that if you don't have a masculine sun - masculine rising, you suck.
How rude.

my ascendent is leo and my sun is libra. they're actually pretty compatible signs. i also have moon in leo which is incredibly compatible with my sun, but even then i often come off as different from who i am. i seem more strong and confident, and sometimes just plain full of myself, because of the leo. the ascendent is how we seem to the world, and an ascendent in a sign that makes a different public impression from the sign the sun is in will naturally cause some problems

Well, 11/12 has another ascendant than the sun sign so there's probably nothing to worry about...

BTW, I read somewhere that some astrologers say the ascendant gets weaker as you get older, like when you're over 30 you start showing more of your sun sign because you get more confidence or self-reliance or whatever.
