can you dance?

i am beginning to wonder if sun sign has some influence on whether you can/do dance or not. i love love music, and would love love to dance, but i am so self conscious that i feel awkward dancing.

so are you a good dancer? and do you think your sun sign has anything to do with it? thinking more on the lines of elements, i think this could be each element:

fire = strong disco type dancers (jump/hop/lights/glare)
water = fluid dancers (flexible bodies)
air = bouncy dancers (half in air)
earth = stand still, sway from side to side dancers

do you identify?

I've had years of training and I am/was quite flexible. I love dancing and usually make it up on the spot.
People regularly ask me where I learned to dance like that and the best compliment I've had was from a girl who said she never had so much fun while dancing before. 😄

Can I dance...duhhhhhh! I was dancing out of the womb! LOL! My eldest son had no rhythm until he was about 10; the youngest is 10 and still has no rhythm, lol! In time...he has my genes; it's an innate thing that comes out later in boys I guess; lol!

Nope cant dance...I really just have no rhythm, plus I just feel really awkward trying. lol

WTF?! I couldn't disagree more. Why is everyone so quick to label earth signs as being boring, rigid, and stiff? Of course it's impossible for us to be the best at anything fun, creative, or exciting... I feel earth signs are some of the best dancers. Examples (look them up if you don't know):

Of course I can dance. I have an over abundance of Taurus Influences.

It's funny I'm not one for fancy foot work if I'm at the club. But I'm not continent to sway either, some grindin?? and a bit of poppin??. I love dancing to some house, fast tempo??s, where you can find many different pockets to vary your rhythm to build up and release.

I took dance when I was young, so I'm confident in my own ability, to excel at something more complicated then standing in place and rolling my hips. But it's just what feels the most natural. Lol, funny thread!

Haha yeah. I can do some impressive jumps, turns and rolls but it's just not very practical in a club. 😛

That is right, I shall ring the ever amazing Amazonian, for a night of sizzling music, the gents shall not complain, ever...mixed bag provides for a much needed comedic relief at times, a good laugh or two 🙂

I loved to dance when I was younger, but never took any classes for it. I still think about dance all the time. In my mind, if I had the perfect opportunity, it would be the perfect way to express myself and be a "release" of sorts. I still contemplate about taking lessons. Its something that needs to get out of my system.

+100. my thoughts too. though i have never danced before.

I love to dance but it depends on the situation.

My body can flow easily with graceful more elegant movements such as ballroom, or more sensual movements (Scorpio rising 🙂 ), even though I've had no training. Pretty naturally felixible too. I also find it very easy to be expressive and lose myself in the dance.

However when it comes to a house party, I feel terribly self conscious and you will not see me dancing. I'm watching everyone else, longing so badly to be bold enough to get out with everyone else. Until I've had a few drinks at least!

@Virg916 Most of the best dancers in showbiz are earth signs, true, but it doesn't mean they're the most entertaining to watch though. With earth signs it's over rehearsed while water signs have more natural rhythm imo

I guess we can agree to disagree. lol. Two words: Michael Jackson. It doesn't get any better/more entertaining.

What signs do you think are the most entertaining?

I have a lot of Water and Air placements in Cardinal signs, but I don't think I'm that sensual in my movements. Though, it may be because I wasn't trained, I usually was the only female with a group of guys and the style of dance I'm most comfortable with is hip-hop (bboying, krumping, new style ) and house, but I do enjoy dancehall, zouk, salsa, bellydance as well. I just don't think I'm as good in those.

I love dancing, i have rhythm but I'm certainly no professional dancer and I can't get that booty thing going...probably because I have no real ass...my kids just laugh when I try :/

Lol @ the earth one. I can't dance, dancing is embarrassing. I only dance when I'm alone, even that I don't know if it'll be regarded as being good dancing. Oh well. My cousin on the other hand! She is an aqua as well & when she sees a dancing circle, she goes right in the middle. She also picks up new dancing style s faster than anyone I know.

i'm a libra and I always had the rythm in the blood 🙂 I'm in love with music . playing all the instruments in general since 7 years . my name is muwik = music ... lol

that being said .

when I was a kid I was pretty shy . but I was always singing something , rapping , playing music and dancing alone in my bedroom . lol

I knew I was good and had rythm . at the age 18 I started to club with female friends .
at the first I was shy and watching the others dance

at the end
they got me out of my shell .

I had much more confidence in me 🙂

I got interested in dance and especially hip-hop .
a friend pushed me to join a group of dance and I took 2-3 months of classes with them .

everyone was surprised to see me dancing like that . I don't want to brag .

but I got this in me . 😄

I feel like . I am black . lol

I can dance like them . even better

give me a spoon , a fork and a drum and i'm in another world .i'm happy 😄

I'm a Virgo and a really good dancer. In fact I've had a few people ask if I'm a dancer just based on my body type. I like to dance and I identify more with the water description. I'm a pretty fluid dancer and flexible person. Definitely not one to just sway side to side when I feel the music.

I can country dance with the best of 'em - two step, three step, waltz, jitterbug, polka, etc.

Back in the 80's I could dance, but I have no idea how to dance to this stuff nowadays. 🙂

Yes, but when am alone, can't dance in public.
