Cancer Placements and Living in the Past

The other night, the sag sun (cancer moon) starts off a conversation talking about when we first met. Now i wasnt in the mood, but hearing him talk about how the past with me made him feel really lit my fire.

Im a moon in scorpio and cancer rising. North node in cancer.

Talking about the past is like a favorite past time of mine. "I remember" is a phrase i often utter.

I remember when i first hooked up with the aries sun (mars cancer), i was sitting on his lap and i asked him where did all of "this like" come from and he went back 4 years to a time when we were at the bowling alley. The jog down memory lane made my heart flutter.

So do you guys enjoy the past? Why do memories elicit so much emotion?

There were even times where the scorp would try to use a good memory to get on my good side.

i guess other water placements do this as well. i will admit that it can be equally annoying when water signs cant let go of the past.

I recently met the friend of a girl that I used to date. We were at a party and got some time to ourselves to talk. she's a thick woman... and we clicked. I wasn't interested romantically, but i wondered what made us feel so comfortable right off the bat.

So i was hanging out with the girl I used to date and asked her for her friend's birth info. as a kneejerk reaction, she might've thought i was interested in her friend, so she started spilling all her dirt. She's a cancer sun, scorpio moon with gemini rising. Now her mercury and venus are both in gemini. L O L

get this..... she makes a photo album with every guy that she sleeps with. L M A O and she has like 50 albums. I do the same thing. fuark. Well not every girl I sleep with but everyone I date and take pics with. I make a separate photo album for each one. with their hand written cards and notes inside.

It's nice to pick it up randomly and recall a time when you gave each other yourselves. relive those memories.


At the same time, it actually makes me look forward to the future.

Yeap, total nostalghiac here; often find myself living in the past while making plans for the future, but I'm rarely fully present in the here & now.

Cannot at all relate to those who have no sentimental bonds to the past, or have no need to reminisce but just keep moving forwards like runaway trains. Might as well have Alzheimer's.

I reminisce all the time... especially about my children. I miss my baby bunchkins. I had a dream two days ago that I had another sweet, soft, baby boy.

I reminisce with my husband about our past. It makes the present and future feel so much sweeter.

I have no Cancer placements but, I have two Cancer houses and my husband is a Cancer moon with his moon in the 4th house.

I keep and have kept journals of love affairs with flowers in pages, gifts, jewelry, etc. This will be the second set he wants me to destroy. He let's me keep the jewelry, especially since I let him wear the diamond earrings.

god this topic, shortcircuiting the fuck of my virgo sun.

i am very nostalgic. not living in the past but booking several trips there every year.

I have boxes with memorabilia, I keep tickets from movies we've seen together, presents, a t-shirt from every person I dated, I press flowers and conserve them in albums, photos, blood vials, cd's, slideshows, you name it..I have it in my box.

If I cared for you at any point in my life, there's a box with your name on it. I will remember minute details from decades past..you can wake me up at night and I will remember favorite colors, movies, songs, all sorts of details.

The road down memory lane is less a road and more a sand beach considering how many times cancer placements peeps walk on it.

I actually keep all my albums. pics. videos etc on a PC at my parents house. The more recent ones are kept in hidden files on my own login laptop. she can only be a guest.

I've never asked my husband to destroy or get rid of anything. However, he has asked me to get rid of my memorabilia (see my first post).

Lost my 1st true love of 5yrs in a freak accident in 1991 (Taurus sun, Cap moon), and to this day I can still remember play by play that entire week, especially the day OF....thanks to my Cancer moon & Cancer rising I find it therapeutic to reminisce and am grateful for the memories of the good & bad with him. I find that taking short trips every once in a while down "memory lane" with my friends often tend to soothe my soul and often tend to bring alot of laughter on all parties ends...(Im a bit of a goofball & looney tune with my long-term friends...lol). But as one commenter stated a bit earlier...I as well am mostly living in the future by making plans (thanks to my Virgo Sun) based on reflecting about my past as to not repeat same mishaps I may have done previously....takes a bit of focus sometimes to remember to be here in the "now" and live "presently".

it is memory....its just pleases my soul to the core when people remember bits of my past.

I'm a very sentimental person, but after a long period of time, I can let some of it go. I do have a lot of the stuff from my 1st boyfriend, a very dear friend that died, newspaper articles, obituaries of friends, lots of pictures.

As for the old flames, I don't really throw anything out b/c I only saved the stuff from the very close relationships. Which is 3...

I realized I needed to sell my bedroom set recently b/c it's the one my ex and I purchased as husband and wife. I start to cry when I think of it, I'm not sure if I'm ready to let it go but I need to.

Venus in Cancer, 7th house Cancer, Moon in Scorpio....

I make it a point not to keep anything physical from my exes. I do have some pictures on fb from prom with an ex that I kept because I was all dressed up and it was a special event. Once a year I usually go back and look at them. I often think back and remember my time with my exes because in my mind, that time is still alive. Or rather I feel the memories and experiences are still relevant to me. If I felt it was okay, I would talk about the past all day long. But no ones got time for that. Anyone who has been in my life will always be special to me so I like to think about my time with them since it was all important and helped me grow.

Lol sentimental person here, treasure old things more than new stuff. Shoes, watch even kitchen utensils become personalized once they are with me for some time. Had a cancer in 6th & 7th House, taking pride in this 😆

Maybe my mars in cancer is responsible for me to maintain all my past objects, I dont want to throw them away, if I have them all this years theres a good darn reason for it, but other people may not get it.
