Do you believe that in the old myth of Persephones capture, she is portrayed as a Virgo? Or no?

Who would be hades ? Scorpio or Aries ?

I thought she was a virgin, not Virgo.

The only Hades I've ever seen was a Taurus, so I'll go with that.

Going with Scorpio or Aries is too obvious, too easy. Sometimes they tend to surprise you.

She's not a Virgo, she represents Virgos.

Just like Hades represents Scorpios.

So I looked up "Persephone" and apparently that's a vegetable goddess. Are you calling me a vegetable?

Pluto is literally the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Hades. Literally. So. There's that.

In Roman she was Proserpina, which is an asteroid in astrology. Her mother was Ceres, another asteroid.

^Persephone = Proserpina, btw.

I'd have to agree with this interpretation.

i'm still getting to grips with greek mythology.

i have the mythic tarot, which tells a story beginning with the fool right the way through to the last of the minor arcana (i might make a thread on the order of these soon). it really is fascinating, when used to relate to the archetypes.

But that makes me wonder. Is Virgo and Scorpio really that extremely opposite. Light and dark? I know scorpios best match is pisces, And a Virgo is pisces opposite.

? There's so many questions I have about this

They are complements. Light and dark.

I see it this way - Virgo and Scorpio once shared the same sign, then Libra was introduced. Libra is the symbol of balance between Virgo and Scorpio, light and dark, life and death.

But that's just my theory, amongst many others.

Note : Virgo and Scorpio both also represent rebirth.

I know about Scorpio rebirth and such but Virgo ? I've never heard of that

If you know about the myth of Persephone then you will understand the connection. Or not.
