8th is the confinement of marriage and legal problems,
12th is confinement in the universe, or the world at large, prisons, hospitals...meditation, which is the confinement of being stuck in a physical body...(haha...not bad huh?)
This confinement brings out emotions, and psychic powers, gifts from within...
The water makes a lot more sense...why emotions and psychic powers? Seems a bit random. Well it's the constraint of confinement. Just like physical exercise develops the muscles, and cardio system...in the same way confinement => emotions and psychic powers.

I have Cancer/IC in the 4th, no planets in the 8th, and Venus and Jupiter in Scorpio in the 12th conjunct Neptune and ascendant in the 1st. I'm facing a layoff very soon (that I'm excited about). I need to check my transits. (Btw, Mars and Pluto are conjunct my MC in the 10th). Thank you!

I’m still kinda new to all of this.What is your take on Moon in the 8th house? I heard it’s not an ideal placement. I think I emotionally express myself well, but it might have something to do with it being in Aries?
Expressing yourself has more to do with mercury, and aspects...moon is how you feel, and deal with emotions...your childhood and your residual inner state(moon) are connected to and dependant on your partner, especially long term. Could also be affected by deaths of friends or family. It can also mean you dig deep into your emotions, and you're not against taking revenge for being slighted.
The Aries adds power, motivation and diminishes drama. 😊

No planets ? And where are the rulers? Moon jup, Neptune...their positions tell you more about the house.

Don't mean to ask in a dumb way but is this implying those with planets in water houses are more psychic or prone to be affected by "unseen" things? I have mostly fire signs but have 8th house and 12th house activity (ruled by Cancer and Scorpio respectively). Dunno about psychic gifts, but emotional turbulence yes
I have lots of 12th and 8th house placements. I've had experiences of the spiritual side my entire life. Even unexplainably was obsessed with death ghosts the underworld from a startling young age.

Imo planets in 8th house cause events out of your comteol to choose your destiny for you... This makes you very mature and very strong. But the training is very tough 😊
I dont have planets in 12th but it's about how you grow spiritually, and deal with loss...

Think I get it, it's like when the energies are condescend you get the extremes. Spirituality 12th that isn't integrated properly, but intensely can lead to insanity and being institutionalised?😄
Yes or too much life force can lead to prison...and life in general causes us to wonder what it's all about, and retreat, meditate, feel stuck in this life.

I could say that the 2nd house is confinement in the physical senses, the 1st in the personality and so on...
Water is about feelings and emotions.

2nd house is your stuff.....1st house is you, who you are....
Feelings and emotions, and psychic abilities are quite random, as features of a certain "element ", and it's confinement that creates them. That bring them out.
