How Online Behavior Differs from Real-Life Interactions

People often act differently online compared to face-to-face interactions. Anonymity can lead to less polite behavior, but practicing good manners online is important as real people are behind the screens. Maintaining respectful communication helps foster positive interactions both digitally and in person.

utilize the computer to act terribly? In real life, interacting with people face-to-face, would you say some of the things you say on the net? I think not because some of you would certainly be missing a tooth or 3 or 5?! LOL

I think home-training should remain in tact even on the net (afterall there are REAL people at the monitors).

Have some emanners and have a nice day!

Sounds like the problem isn't whether a person needs to have manners or not .... it's that you need to get a grip, and realize that you are the one in charge of what you will let effect you.

Yep, I just read the thread which motivated you to create this one .... and the problem is you.

You're too emotionally weak to be in dxp .... your mother is calling you, time to go home.

And you know exactly where you can go...

Too weak to be on DXP? You are the one who needs to get a grip...DXP is not a war zone in vietnam where my life is at risk. IT IS THE Internet, a forum, a source of information and entertainment. THAT IS ALL.

I still say that people should have manners and not use the monitor to hide behind and behave miserably. I suspect this is exactly what you do, thus, you are pitiful and need to grow the hell up.

FYI - I recognize that not everyone has basic manners and will be ignorant but I still believe what I said.

Most people are bolder on the Internet than in real life -- but that's not always a bad thing (think of a shy, quiet person who doesn't interact much in social situations).

As long as people are honest with me, they can say whatever they want to -- I'm not going to get offended on an anonymous web forum.

I do get my dander up when DXPers outright lie...

Now, that is totally understandable what you say. Like some people use alcohol to loosen up. In either case, IMHO, it doesn't hurt to dig from within, without said aides, to be who you aspire to be. Make sense?

However, I am talking about persons who hide behind the monitor to say sh!t that they KNOW in real life would not be acceptable. Being rude and/or nasty just because is cowardly and sad. It takes a lot of effort to be purposefully miserable.

lol, I think you should go to every board on here and try to control others .. we all need a good laugh

If your little feelings can't handle that others are different, and aren't going to protect your feelings for you .... then oh well ... like i said, we all need a good laugh.

Maybe Aftermath will come along and be nice to you .... would that make you feel better?

Awwww, everyone, look at poor little ole' P-Angel. She so desparately needs your attention - maybe DXP is her adoring audience because IRL she's a prick and repels people. Someone go and dedicate a thread to her so she can be validated. Why else would she be so ignorant to a total stranger who has done nothing to her? Doesn't make much sense to me but then again I ain't trying to understand her foolishness.

Would you allow AA fight his own battles - he started it and he can finish it. That is, unless you are grooming him to be a mini-p.

LOL! I find it extremely funny that you (from my very 1st post here) find it necessary to be stupid with me for NO reason at all. P, you could have been like normal folk and behave the way you do to someone who has done something to you. Stupid much?

BTW - I just want you to know that me or my feelings will not be going anywhere no time soon. Oh, joy (smile P-Angel)!!!

You ought to be tired of grunting at people. It's old.

Say it with me now - HAPPINESS is contagious.

Sounds like you're assuming -- while we'd like to believe everyone gets home training, the fact of that matter is, especially in these later generations, not everyone does and, the downside of that does somewhat reflect in peoples' attitudes, attitudes which directly affect how they communicate themselves.

You are correct in that I did assume that most parents teach kids how to interact with people. My bad.

Is that it is - Humans? Nah, just kidding.

I've caught onto things around here and although I am in take-no-shit-mode - I can still laugh at the antics for what they are worth - gerbil pooh. Ha!

The adaption speed to the board manners is almost frightening.

Don't be frightened by their mess - it's funny once you know some twat is 'trying' with all their might to get your goat. Hella funny really. To add injury to insult - they actually think they are clever - BARF!

LMAO! Hi xtina.

I see no reason to have to "act" any different on here then in RL. I'm just quieter in RL. I'm polite and friendly if approached but never obnoxiously "sweet" or "friendly". That would be fake because that's not me. Really I don't have any desire to talk to people whom I have no interest in. I've never been described as friendly 😛 I call it like I see it and I'm honest to a fault. I wouldn't have it any other way. 🙂

"utilize the computer to act terribly? In real life, interacting with people face-to-face, would you say some of the things you say on the net?"

In real life, most assholes do not approach me, but when they do, and they come off arrogant
(male or female) and stupid, I give a polite warning, and it usually ends there. However if
I meet someone out, and am approached with a conversation which goes deep, I'm very
straight forward as I am here and direct with brutal honesty. Again, I get either a holy
shit and they stay to continue with a new conversation or holy shit, I'm outta here. If it
turns ugly, before they are outta there, I'll tell them the conversation is over. I find
that most people respect what I have to say as my opinion in real life, and I accept they
don't have to like it. But from the beginning they GET the vibe from me, what you see is
what you get. I found out at a very young age, that if you act the way you THINK people WANT you to
act, it can get you in more trouble. Acting consists of lies and half truths, too much
effort and it's so much easier being yourself.

Your description describes my eldest brother, who is a virgo too, on the dime. People just don't approach him with nonsense - including me :-). He doesn't walk around looking like an ogre but his disposition that says it all.

stupid topic. your telling pople to use manners on an internet forum??... wow this is what i really hate about libra, there too fucking sensitive to EVERYTHING! very weak minded individuals that can only sweet talk there way through life.

it's your problem librarules that nasty, rude words and lound noises affect your physical well beingand health, so you should deal with the problem and find a solution instead asking us to change ourselves for your own good.

What a joke.
