I'd say Gemini is kind of perfect for this, esp given Jupiter being in detriment under Gemini. An unfocused Gemini is basically gathering data endlessly, jumping from one point to the next, not really delving past what has to be explored. Jack-of-all-trades.
When it comes to depth of thought, you have several facets-
1) Depth of reflection (aka your own perspective being added to the thought in a transformative way)
2) Analytical abilities to delve into thought (versus "feeling your way through" or whatever, which I would peg as depth of emotion instead, although that would qualify at least a bit for the 1st point)
3) Motivation/focus to follow thought into its maximum depth
Leo is fall in Mercury and its not much better under Jupiter and Uranus. I would say Leo can have an excessively self-centered thought process that seems to stop at an egoic level, instead of plunging further.
You can also group signs that are more action-oriented than thinking or depth-oriented into the "less deep thoughts" category.
From least deep thoughts -> most deep thoughts
1) Fire signs probably hit the highest for "lack of deepthoughts" (exception: Sagittarius- as ruler of Jupiter, known for philosophical tendencies)
2) Water signs are known for wanting to feel their way through things, rather than intellectualize. They hit 1 on this list, however there is more of a motivation to follow feelings to their maximum depth, than straight-up thoughts. (exception: possibly Scorpio)
3) Air signs may lack the depth of reflection needed to bring true creativity and truth/transformation to a thought (exception: Aquarius- exalted Mercury and ruler of Uranus; Gemini- being the most extreme manifestation of superficial thought)
4) Earth signs. Earth signs are known for building on the foundations of yesterday, which includes thoughts. Lumping thoughts on top of each other to progress forward. If you get an intellectual Earth sign, omg the amount of information they have slowly integrated into their minds over time can be phenomenal. The biggest problem is 3 for most earth signs. But add motivation due to some other chart stuff and they can shine. (exception: Taurus. More likely to be body-oriented and Venusian, rather than wanting to play in the mental plane all day). Saturn is actually known for adding structure to thoughts, so I wouldn't say Capricorns are less deep in thought by any means. They're a pretty guarded sign, so getting them to reveal any of their true conclusions can be difficult.

Aries are very perceptive imo. They just don't dwell on overanalysing things like negative signs do. Defo don't deserve to be on this list.IMO:
1. Leo
2. Libra
3. Taurus
Aries are good at what they do, and what they do has nothing to do with depth and preseption
Is this based on your own honest opinions and experiences over the years or just bits and pieces of data you've collected from various sites?
Sounds stale, like a bunch of astrological descriptions off random sites I google.
Seems kind of dumb to base it mostly off of personal experience, because I can promise you the amount of people that I actually get to see a chart on is a lot lower than the amount of people I've interacted with lifetime. And sun signs mean pretty much nothing.
Personal experience? Leo, Gemini, Cancer. Scorpio and Aries hit the list too. But like someone said, that could be due to synastry, so it's not as relevant as going through the theory itself.

Astrological "theory" is false, and 100% biased. We all already know what astrological descriptions say, and that they are mostly written by bitter and jaded women. To find who typically writes them, all you have to do is look at which signs are being exalted and placed on a pedestal and which signs are stomped into the ground. There's a story to be told.
By that logic, it seems kind of dumb really to discuss any of this at all, because it's not actually real is it?

It depends how you use it. I see it as a tool to ask yourself questions you normally wouldn't, zero in on whatever hunch you already have, but lack the words to express. If you read in between the lines and crawl through enough descriptions, I think it's possible to come up with a fairly neutral idea of what the sign represents. Some archetype.
That being said, I see enough of match-up between astrology and real life to justify wanting to learn more. I can't tell you how much of that is confirmation bias or not, but FWIW I'm here now, so my stance is clear: astrology has value.

Honestly, I find the people that HAVE to prove to everyone around them how incredibly bright and deep they are to be the most annoying. But that's just my opinion.
Emphatically agree with this. Also there is merit in succinctness of thoughts and prose. Reading 1000 words (or posts) especially if a person just tries to take both sides of an argument or thinks that "well not in my experience" when their experience is based on a handful of people or experiences, equates to actual proof is also annoying, not to mention those that think repeating a lie or misinformation 1000 times will magically make it truth.
Lol! This Aries/Libra/Virgo thing is pretty interesting. I (Libra) am now with an Aries and both our exes were Virgos, hmmmmm!
