Water signs may be more reserved with nicknames and pet names due to their emotional sensitivity. They often prefer meaningful and personal names but may avoid using pet names publicly or with others to maintain privacy and emotional boundaries.

Kinda wondering how many of the water signs won't do this since apparently nicknames/pet names are super personal.
I didn't realize that was a Scorp thing. I have always been so fussy about pet names being fit to the person.
I just figured water signs wouldn't be apt to let others know about their pet names seeing they are pretty personal.
Most people in my life either call me Stompie (which means a cigarette butt) or 2 Short. I hate both names but I've learned to live with them.
My aries ex calls me "Ya habibi", which supposedly means "darling" or something like that.
My libra ex called me "Meri jaan" or "Gashti" when angry.
My scorpio ex called me "baby gurl". I hated it because he was older so it sounded dirty when he said it.
I generally don't use terms of endearment in my romantic relationships- I think I said "baby" a few times to one of the men in my life & every time I said it, I somehow wished he hadn't heard. I don't even know why I said it *shrugs*
My aries ex's name is Shoaib, but when my son was younger he used to pronounce it "Shoaiby". He'd cry at night & be like, "Shoaiby, tum here" "Shoaiby, give me a bottle", etc. So now *I* call him Shoaiby, as well. I think I got used to it because of my son.
I have too many nicknames for the people in my life. Too many to list here. But many of them are what I call the person(s) in my head. It's a secret. Example, I worked for a couple many years ago. The husband was thin & tall, and the wife was short & fat. In my head I referred to them as "10".

OMG LOL! 10....Awesome. I do call people tons of nicknames or "code" names that I have with a girl I work with as far as us "talking shit" about our coworkers.
A few of them are:
Nigel = Cause he has the nose of Nigel Thornberry from the Wild Thornberries (Nickelodean Cartoon)
BM = Baby momma cause her boyfriend doesnt have a job for the last 3 years, doesnt do shit
DQ = Drama queen cause shes bat shit crazy
DB = Douche bag pretty obvious
Libra, Taurus, etc.
A myriad of short letters again like I said earlier like E, L, H, K, etc.
LMAO @ Nigel
I don't have a lot of nicknames/pet names. I don't really care for them, either. Especially the ones made up by significant others. Most of them just sound cheesy or awkward to me. It has a lot to do with who's saying them. If the person starts off using pet names, it sounds more natural and easier to accept than someone who starts off with boundaries and doesn't say that stuff.
Babycakes and puddingpop are the only two nicknames I remember being called and those were both by the ex who started off calling me such things. My other s/os have mainly stuck to using 'baby' or 'cutie', which is fine by me.
I refer to everyone by their surnames generally...
It's fun to yell, especially at work =)
I get called Wag, Grub or Quail as a rule- or my own surname.
Nothing too lovey-dovey when it's an insider, maybe Bub or I call my other half Bubballoo when I'm half asleep...

Funnily enough I think Karl Wolf is an Aries.Jeez, WC married Karl Wolf.

sket
My ex called me Kitten all the time.
A special lady called me Phoenix.
My gfs call me a shorter version of my name.
My old Scorp supervisor and now mentor calls me her little Prickly Bear.

You're not entirely wrong. The better question would be how many water signs will be willing to explain HOW they got their nicknames?
I never had a real nickname, save for variations of my first and last name, I get those a lot. Not sure if I want 'em either, lol. For some reason people tend to ruffle my hair when they wanna show affection, that I don't mind.

lol i was gonna say....
Next is "Prince charming"
or the very used up Romance novel names /and romance tv series for women. Usually a LOVE triangle:
Killian & Dash!!!
a nickname is a very private thing. I can't even say it on here.

*blushes*
dammit
Come to think of it I've been called "angel" by two different girls who've never met or spoken and know nothing about eachother. To get such an abstract petname by two different girls is either a big coincidence or it must mean I'm some sort of angel 😄
"Doll," "Baby Doll," and "Baby Girl."
In my current age bracket, this is downright embarrassing. But yeah, people STILL use them.

Not sure why I thought about this topic but I thought it would be fun to list all the nicknames you had or pet names you have used or received from other people in the past.

Do you use pet names with a significant other? Have you had someone say "don't call me that" yet you still do it? What about the nicknames you give out to family members? Do you call them by it on a regular basis? Do you find using nicknames/pet names embarrassing?
