Perplexed About Capricorn Guy

A Libra here who started dating a Capricorn guy a few months ago. I'm Libra, Pisces rising, Aries moon. He's Capricorn, Libra rising, Gemini moon. Everything was great, then a few weeks ago he ended the romantic relationship and gave me a vague reason saying he can't give me what I need (meaning a serious relationship). When I pressed him for a more clear reason he said something about not having his life in order right now (financially and career which I know is a very Capricorn thing) When we were together I could tell he was into the relationship because he did things for me that melted my heart beyond belief. Then just as we were getting more serious, he broke up with me.

I was left feeling hurt and dumb founded because I felt there was so much potential in the relationship. I felt we were compatible in so many ways even though our sun signs square each other. I could feel it in my soul based on my experiences with him. So I ordered a compatibility report based on both of our charts, and I it basically said what I had been feeling all along....that we're extremely compatible. In fact, the level of compatibility in the report was even higher than I expected.

He's 50 and hasn't been in a relationship for longer than two years. So I began to think he has issues with intimacy. I noticed his north node is in the 8th house which is interesting since that's the house of intimacy. After the breakup, I could tell he was struggling with his decision because when he's around me I sense he still has feelings for me. I said all of this to ask, is he afraid of intimacy?? And what can I do about it?? I really believe based on my gut feeling and compatibility report, that this man is my soulmate.

How do you know someone is your soulmate after only a few months?? Seems unrealistic.
