receptiveness of astrology

...in your area.

so i just moved to the bay area in the sunshine state of california from the beautiful state of michigan and... i'm amazed at how the people are open to astrology around here as compared to michigan.

when i would bring up astrology and ask people their sign in Michigan, i'd say 4 out of 5 times i was met with comments like 'i dont believe that stuff' without me ever asking wether they believed it or not. but here in california, people will just ask, or if you're talking about birthdays, they'll just say, 'oh so you're a capricorn!' it's realy cool and such a stark contrast to what i'm used to.

so what about you guys and the people in your area? how open to astrology are they?

Close-minded .. in this area, the majority of the people are devout christians, for the most part, and shrug off anything remotely resembling occultism, or any science that is contrary to biblical doctrine.

do you guys think there could be a scientific connection between the motion of the planets and our behavior?

In NYC people often discussed astrology.

I'm in Canada... and I'm one in a million in terms of Astrology... I always bring it up and it seems to fall on deaf ears.

I don't think so CreepyPants, at the moment .. still pondering, still on my quest for answers ..

Everyday that passes, thus far, I'm becoming more convinced that people use things for justification .. things like ..

An unruly child is labelled with ADHD, or an adult who's emotions are out of control is bi-polar, or if we're poor when there are oodles of opportunities we claim to be victims of unfortunate circumstances, we would make wrong choices and say another person doesn't understand us, or put faith in a diety to save us from wrong doing when we have our own sense of right or wrong, or for me example, I use people around me smoking as an excuse to keep puffing ..

And I believe we do this with astrology to justify certain behaviours. Honestly, if I go into a group of people, I can't point out certain people of sun signs, simply based off of their behaviours.

The mind words backwards with this .. you give it the solution, such as, that person is a Scorpio standing over there .. and our minds will then actually look to find traits that weren't apparant without the mind having this suggestion .. suddenly, you can find Scorpion qualities.

If these behaviours had any validity .. then I should think science would have made the connection by now, and our minds would be able to identify without the power of suggestion.

Most people tell me their signs when I ask them, most people seem to know that they have their own zodiac sign.

It certainly is interesting that scientists haven't formally studied, documented or laid emphasis through research about planetry influences on human behavior.

So on this board we are unintelligent? id like to think otherwise, lol.

When Christians say they dont believe in astrology, we should ask them how birth of jesus was predicted using stars. may be that can shut them up.

No.. its always the ones who think they are intelligent happen to hate astrology. They are so convinced that they know everything perfectly. The real wise ones are always open to subjects.
