Some Signs Just Don't Get IT

I've been working in the Information Technology (IT) career field for over 20 years. While I haven't collected astrological data on all my many coworkers over the years, I have noticed some general trends...

1. Network Analysts - Lots of Virgos, and a few Libras.
2. System Administrators - More Taurus than any other Sign.
3. Database Administrators - Mostly GEMs, but a few CAPs, too.
4. Web Developers - Several Pisces, and a Leo.

I've yet to meet an Aries, Cancer, or Aqua in IT.

For those of you working in IT, have you found certain Signs in particular specialities, and some Signs entirely lacking??

Yeah, I've found that to be true. In fact, I'd say the Best Managers in IT come from the Earth Signs - in my experience...

In my company ( IT ) the total employee strength is - 94,000. And fortunately for an astrology lover like me - they have put up one "birthday" application on the intranet, which one can access to view birthday details. Geminis are by for the largest pool and for the rest itz an equal distribution.

When I was doing my B-School, I found a similar application there as well and to my surprise I found that the list was dominated by Aries for my batch.

Perhaps true - the middle management should mostly constitue of earth signs, since it requires a keen eye, more attention to detail and less direction-setting.

Our current CEO is an Aries - and hez the most self-effacing, low-profile guy Ive seen. Before him was a Gemini who is simply a genius and the first CEO/Founder was a Leo who made a name for himself in the whole country.

Based on whatever crude research Ive done - the CEO list is topped by Aquas followed by Leos I guess. There are a number of Aries as well ( very big corporations ) along with Scorpios and Geminis.

Itz aspiring to be a Six Billion USD compamy this year - I dont know how big that would be.

Well if U go by just astrology - then they are one of the best crisis managers and execution champions. Long term strategy - again by astrology it should be a Scorp/Aqua/Cap forte. For Caps itz more of process than strategy.

And if U believe what Chiro ( scorpio ) has to say - then perhaps Aries are the best when it comes to the task of transformation/leadership - on a national scale particularly. Chiro mentions that Aries are best suited for mega-scale projects.

The best business brain in the world at the moment is - Warren Buffet ( virgo ). No hez not a CEO, not even a leader. But he knows what works and what doesn't because hez got an eye. No wonder hez the richest person.

Haa Haa - Really ? To be honest the most comfortable and peaceful friendship I have enjoyed is with a Virgo guy - hez accurate and yet not crtical. But can't be generalized though.

No, not at all. This thread was started by a Virgo, and we have no sense of humor!

Also, it was not meant to say that certain Signs can't do IT. I am interested to know the experiences of others, because with enough evidence, it may come out that some Signs like IT more than others -- as astrologers might suggest...

No they do have a sense of humor - itz self-deprecating most of the times though.

One of the best Network Analysts at my shop (besides myself, of course!) is a Virgo male - he can troublehshoot the most complex interconnections, and won't stop until he's found those missing datagrams...

One of our best Web Developers is a Pisces female. She treats each of her pages / apps like it's her own baby, and is very sensitive to criticisms from us non-Web IT managers...

True. But let's be honest, a lot of IT work is pretty dull - except when something hiccups - and maybe Earth Signs are drawn to the same-old same-old...

go MsPisces u tell em how pisces are ... pisces is good in the it world only if left alone to be able to completely express creativity .. whereas virgos are just boring coz they do everything how they are told to do it and thats it ... zero on creativity ... nothing personal, it is what it is.

I'm doing my Bachelor's in Information Systems.

We got
1 Pisces
1 Saggitarius
2 Aries
2 Taurus
2 Capricorn
2 Scorpio
3 Virgo
3 Scorpio
4 Libra

Now the funny thing is, The Saggitarius guy has been the one with the best grades. He did a course or diploma before, an Ace in C#. He's always confusing the class and arguing with the teacher.

The next guy who is pretty good with IT is a Libra, but he is much older. He also likes to argue with the teacher, but makes sense half the time.

Then you have all 3 Virgos myself included who are generally consistant with doing well.
I'm the only one who corrects the teacher though and I don't confuse the class.

I am honestly baffled as to why this Pisces female is in the course, I doubt she likes it but it's management so I suppose she has hope.

More Earth signs need to be in upper management, because upper management in coporations certainly does lack integrity.

I wouldn't last five minutes in upper management, I know this about myself. The whole damn corporation would fall about. I can lead myself, but I can't lead others.

I say, air fire signs need to be in the head office because they are mose equiped then earth signs. Earth signs get arrogant too quick when they have power over people. Earth signs are at their best when left humble.

Many (not all) people who are Problem Whizz Kids on computers, have no people skills, because all they know is computers. When they get home, most of them probably get onto "Chat sites, Hook Up Sites, Meeting Sites" coz the cyber world is all they know.
Put them in a "HUMAN" face to face situation and they fall apart.
They "Cant" communicate with another person.
Ive seen it time and time again and its very sad.

Not to mention, most of them are usually "Burnt Out" at a young age.

I see no whisper of Libra in this technical thread.. why? I just don't get IT
