Venus retrograde is here - a survival thread

A follow-up on the 'Venus retro is coming' thread for all those affected by her reflecting mood.

Are any you experiences some tough self-realization these days? How are you dealing with them? I think I'm in need of this retrograde to put things in perspective, but it still sucks a s s.

I've seen previous threads questioning what venus retrograde is and what it means. I'll therefore try and put it together here. Here's my take on it:

Retrograde is a movement of going backwards; the planet is going backwards for a while before going forwards again. Every planet has certain themes associated with them, and when the planet is in retrograde matters related to these themes will be seen in a retrospective light instead of a prospective light. We look back, and past events will appear with in a different light. A time to reflect. How we reflect and what we reflect on then depends on the planet in retrograde - when it's a Venus retrograde we reflect with our heart.

That is my understanding of a retrograde, now comes my understanding of Venus. Venus rules rules Taurus and Libra; Taurus is related to the 2nd house (the house of value) and libra is related to the 7th house (the house of partnerships) Therefore Venus (roughly) represents money/value and relationships/love.

Venus in retro places our present/past relationships and values in a retrospective light. This time around Venus goes retro through Aries and Pisces, and it spans from 13 degrees aries back to 26 degree pisces. These signs embodies the energies of new beginnings (aries) and endings (pisces) - seen through the lens of our Venus (the heart)

How Venus manifests herself depends on her placement in the signs, and where she manifests herself depends on her placement in the houses. How a venus retrograde will affect you therefore depends on you chart. I'll give an example. I'm a Mercurian Capricorn. At the time of my birth Venus was in Aquarius and in the 9th house, and she has aspects to other planets in my house, among others a hard aspect to my Taurus moon which is placed in my Aries ruled 12th house. Therefore I'll most likely sense her retro in matters related to those houses (I already am) You should look to your chart to see which areas Venus might put in a retrospective light. If those areas have pisces/aries or taurus/libra energy to them then you might feel them more than others.

SIGNS:

Aries ( March 24-April 20)- As Venus, the planet of pleasure and play retrogrades in your own sign you may feel a sense of unease, specifically in regard to inner conflict viewing yourself from the inside out. You may also undergo a shift causing you to re-think your role in the lives of those you are closest to.. Also, you will find yourself more in-tuned as well as aware of situations that remain standing. A good month to focus in on health, making sure that everything lines up. Work matter may be a slight issue, but in time will be remedied.

Taurus ( April 21-May 21)- Drudging up the past isn’t fun, but sometimes in order to move forward we need to create resolution. And you for one, being a creature of habit, never relinquishing the past, only to bury it, needs this type of closure. Therefore, as Venus retrogrades you may be forced to come to terms with the knowledge that the past is the past, now it’s time to move on. In addition, this is a great period to work on your inner vision of where you need/want to be.

Gemini ( May 22-June 21)- Those closest to you, specifically friends and co-workers may be causing you some unnecessary stress, however perception may be playing a role in all of this as Venus moves backwards. Nonetheless, you may need to rethink your own reactions, while paying attention to what is taking place around you. In addition, someone from your past may resurface, bringing to light a need to close or reopen another door.

Cancer (June 22-July 23)- Presently, as influences, specifically Venus in retrograde, hovers over the zenith part of your chart, questions regarding your work, and what is expected of you, begin to surface. You may find yourself a bit overwhelmed as you take on more than you can handle. In addition, this can be a good month to sort through unresolved work and family matters. This is your month to press forward and show what you’re made of without ruffling any feathers.

Leo (July 24-Aug 23)-. A seeker of the heart, you may find yourself at a crossroad this month as planets in transit occupy your area of higher awareness, specifically with Venus in retrograde. A desire to spread your wings, stepping out of the box is well indicated. In addition, time to focus on given priorities. Making a list always helps. In addition, love matters may be causing you to reevaluate your circumstances. It’s a give and take either way you look at it.

Virgo (Aug 24-Sept 23 – As you strive to make sense of what is taking place around you, your money situation may be in a dither. With all the activity in the cosmos, specifically the Full moon and Venus retrograde taking place, it’s either feast or famine. Also, you may find yourself feeling a bit edgy as far as partners are concerned. Before reacting, take a step a step back. Don’t settle.

Libra – (Sept 23- Oct 23) – They say that life is in a constant motion, and you for one are a prime example as you seek out to balance every aspect of your life, specifically in areas of relationships . As Venus moves retrograde in your area of partners, both work and personal related are affected. Therefore, you may be feeling off balance and out of sync. Also, being watchful of what is happening in the financial sector of your chart make sense. Time to seek the advice of an expert, ore merely take stock of your resources. Don’t assume. .

Scorpio ( Oct 24-Nov 22) – So much to do in so little time, focusing on work and personal matters may have you pushing the envelope, however this months retrograde may be causing you to feel out of sorts as the feeling of being overloaded clearly exists from the inside out. Also, this months intentions are about making room for more, taking the time to reassess. Becoming less preoccupied with menial tasks and dealing with issues on a much larger scale. A good much for taking a personal inventory, while placing priorities where they belong.

Sagittarius ( Nov 23- Dec 21) – For most Sag’s life can be a playground, it’s all about doing what you do best and that is staying positive. More importantly it’s about matters of the heart, and taking situations in stride without assumption. This month opens the way to more than one opportunity, where personal relationships are concerned. In addition, speculation can be exciting, more so if you are on a winning streak.

Capricorn ( Dec 22-Jan 20)- Though you are completely career minded, sometimes to a fault, this months influences place you in the home base where you may feel an urgency to nest, recreate fond memories, or merely reconnect. A good, strong family/friends period indeed. However with Venus in retrograde, anything goes. Moreover this is a time where issues that were once dormant begin to surface, unexpected financial expenditures within the home may occur. Needless to say, there is a silver lining as you see yourself more settled in, and as always ready to take on anything that comes your way.

Aquarius ( Jan 21-Feb 19)- Words matter, and as Venus in retrograde could easily turn words into weapons you may see yourself a bit more aware, more tongue tied. However this may also be a time where communication with siblings, close friends may be worth the effort. They may actually listen! Tread carefully, while still using diplomacy. Also, not a good time to purchase a car, or anything major. Hold off until after April 15 if possible.

Pisces ( Feb 20_ March 20)- Though money is not your thing, you may be stepping out of character as you see yourself a bit more absorbed with the almighty dollar. Either way, this is a time with Venus in retrograde, where your actions reverse, What you do may be simply out of character whether it is to spend more, or save more. Either way it is a toss up. So it’s up to you to maintain a sense of control in any given fashion/or outlet. Either way, be careful.

Here's an advice: stop obsessing about it (there's a higher probability for self-fulfilling prophecies - if you obsess about it).
