When do we start using our rising sign?

I am about the same in my Taurus sun and Cancer Rising, in life experiences mainly relationship status. I am different in my Aquarius moon to Cancer rising though. Inconsistencies are not bad but I've seen it in my childhood with my parents. I must say I need someone consistent to match with me.
I have signs of forgiveness, knowledge, or power and I have to learn myself what I accept and for how long.
. I can adapt to anything when things happen I detach or simply attach..to it. Whether it's an exam, friends, family, jobs, and living environment. It's a battle and it's madness to allow myself to get overwhelmed over things i shouldn't or should.

Well, I got interested in astrology in january -15, so I didn't know anything about it in earlier ages either. This is just from what I remember and from what my parents and my brother have told me.
Have you felt your rising sign even as a small kid. Is it getting stronger or weaker...or has it stayed pretty much the same?
From what I understand, gemini is a very sexual sign, so... π
And you really don't need a scorpio ascendent to have a high sex drive. Trust me. π I'm so with you on the scorpio mars guys - It seems I have been drawn to them my entire life. I was shocked to see how I have zeroed in on them.
Do you have any scorpio planets or anything in your 8th?

My moon overshadows everything. I do not look like a Cancer riser. Pluto squares my asc also.

Forgot to ask: can you easily feel the difference between your moon and your ascendent? Personally, I have that moon sq pluto aspect too and because of that, among other aspects, I can clearly feel the difference. How is it for you?

My moon sits right on my asc too, in my 1st house.
It has always been intense, I just know how to control it better now that I'm older. And learning about astrology has helped.

Yes, I must say that astrology is an excellent tool to get to know oneself, imo - whether you believe in it or not, you ask yourself questions. I am very grateful for astrology.
I am a bit watery too, but compared to you, I'm like desert sand. Must say I'm pretty happy about my earth parts.
My rising, sun and moon are interchangeable so I've always used my rising. π

Is that true for you? If I'm not mistaken, you are a libra or a virgo rising - do you identify with either and, looking back, has it increased or decreased with age?

You know, I'm not really sure. Moon square Pluto is like a stronger Scorpio moon. It can get crazy.
I suppose I do. I come off very motherly, but those Pluto aspects keep people at a distance.

Yes, I think it would be easier for me to see the distinction since my moon is gemini and yours is cancer and especially since you are a scorpio sun. For you, I imagine it to be more like trying to see the difference between a scorpio sun and a scorpio moon. Sure, I'm scorpio dominant, but...no, it's not the same at all. Sounds tough with so much water!

I was more like my moon sign as a child but around elementary school I grew into each sign. Ε I think it depends on the child's upbringing and parents. My mom was creative and protective so I always felt safe and imaginative.
Oh. May I ask, were you born at night or in daytime?
I also think it has to do with upbringing. A person may not even feel able to be themselves around their parents and may hold on tightly to that rising. But that's just my own theory. Do you think the intensity of your rising has increased or decreased in later years?
actually I was always anti astrology. a lot of my friends were into it, and I was turned off when I read about Scorpio, because they seemed fucking nuts. I read the description and would laugh and be like "ummm definitely not". my ascendant is Libra. I definitely act more Libra-like. in high school I was on the school newspaper staff and people were arguing about something and I played the peace keeper and explained both sides and why they should come together. they each were right but about different points. our newspaper advisor, a Cancer (who definitely had fire influence lol- she was fiery to the max), told the newspaper editor in chief that I would make a good politician....I don't like politicians so I took it as an insult at first lmfao, but then I realized in what regard she meant it. I found a way to be diplomatic in all things. I'm also that way at Best Buy, the retail electronic store I work at. I'm always the little diplomat trying to keep the peace. I remember we had a Taurus manager who had the same bday as a Taurus full timer, and she didn't like the Taurus so she told the GM that he was racist and also offended other employees. so the GM talked to all of us in the dept. he wasn't racist at all. but he was always very blunt. I used to have a cap friend like him. so the GM asked me if I thought he was racist- I said no. he asked if he was rude or offended me- my response was "he doesn't offend me. I can see how others can get offended by the way he expresses himself, but he doesn't mean it in the way it comes off. I used to have a friend like him. he just doesn't coddle people. he says it like it is, and people don't like it especially since he's new to our department. they'll get used to him with time."
he's still there to this day π. he is an Aries ascendant and it's very prominent in his personality lmao. he is blunt. he has an Aries merc too. he cracks me up. people just didn't like when he transferred into our department and he would be blunt about everything and would occasionally get bossy. he normally doesn't mean it. it's just his personality.
I am ruled by the Sun and Venus. though I'm a scorpy, I definitely don't feel like one. my Virgo moon is in the 11th house also so I'm very friend-oriented. my emotions are very controlled and rational most of the time. I do get those random bursts of emotions though, but for the most part, things that most people would burst into tears over I am able to just comprehend and keep moving with no emotional response. it's pretty nice actually.
my mother and brother are Libras so I think that could also be why I relate so much to my Libra ascendant. I was raised near that type of energy!

omg yes. i see traits of both virgo and libra rising. that definitely reign true with me. it's increasing as i age. and need i say i also see traits of scorpio rising too. which had me confused which of the three rising signs i was.

Absolutely. I was born in the afternoon. As a teen I was very secretive about my personal thoughts which I now understand has a lot to do with my overall chart/personality.
It has increased. It's much easier to convey what I'm feeling and thinking with others. Ε

I think it's about the same but I have a lot of Aries friends so I think my assertive side is coming out more. I'm not sure what to make of it, but before I'd be pretty passive aggressive or just avoid problems/confrontations altogether. I still do that depending on the circumstance, but I'm also getting better on letting someone have it if they need it. I still don't think the energy is very Scorpio-based though...so I'm not sure where it comes from π who knows. Aries is my "third dominant" sign, but Scorpio wins first place by a long shot at 24% . Aquarius is in 2nd place at 12% . so who knows. I'm just accepting the fact that I'm a paradox lol. it must be my aspects that make me so different

I don't feel like I correlated much with my Asc until I was more in my adolescence. I was very outgoing, happy and friendly in my younger years (My Gemini placements really shone through) I became quite dark and depressed when I was about 13 and it only grew from there. I seemed to get a big dose of reality at a young age and could see the world and all of turmoil it was in. I matured much quicker than my peers. My Asc is also in the same placement as my Moon (Scorpio) so I think that has had a greater impact on me and how I am perceived more as a Scorp like being.

i identify with scorpio rising because i have pluto conjunct my ascendant. i guess moon square pluto makes me feel like a scorpio rising too. i'm not gonna lie. i really don't know too much about planets in aspect or houses too much. as far as virgo rising, to be perfectly honest with you i just read the description of virgo rising and it sound soooo much like me and right off the bat i said, yep. i'm a virgo rising. also my mom gave me her estimate time i was born and i went to cafe astrology, and the time she estimated indicated that i'm a virgo rising and i was quite happy to know my rising is in virgo. the time thats on my raggy birth certificate card indicate i'm a libra rising. but my birth certificate card was made 10 years after my birth.

I'm no astrology wizz, but if I had to guess, your moon sq. pluto would not make as much of an impact on your rising as pluto conj asc...which, imo, would make a huge impact.
Wow! Ten years later, that's a lot! But how could they estimate that after all that time if it wasn't on paper already?

I find I fit more into my rising with each birthday. Normally each step towards it came with a transit hitting my ascendant or moving through my first house though.I also have no aspects to my ascendant. So I find it isn't really entwined or complicated by other aspects of my personality. It's just sort of like an energetic polish if you will around me. The resting face to my personhood I guess.

I could be completely wrong, but doesn't what you describe sound a bit like sag mars? Doesn't really want to confront, but will if necessary. But I'm not as good at sag marses as I probably should be, seeing as I grew up with about ten classmates with sag mars. π

Nope, Pluto is in Scorp along with my Moon & Asc, along with Sun, Venus & Jupiter in the 8th House.

When you look at your chart, you see the houses may be of different size if you use the Placidus system. Is any of those houses reaching over an entire sign? I don't know how to explain it. Sorry.

I got into astrology at the beginning of last year I think. I forgot how. I think I was looking up aquarian traits and was like "wow that sounds like my friend!!" and then I got into my own chart. the whole Virgo moon thing was SO me. Libra ascendant. the aspects. it all made sense.

I think it's about the same but I have a lot of Aries friends so I think my assertive side is coming out more. I'm not sure what to make of it, but before I'd be pretty passive aggressive or just avoid problems/confrontations altogether. I still do that depending on the circumstance, but I'm also getting better on letting someone have it if they need it. I still don't think the energy is very Scorpio-based though...so I'm not sure where it comes from π who knows. Aries is my "third dominant" sign, but Scorpio wins first place by a long shot at 24% . Aquarius is in 2nd place at 12% . so who knows. I'm just accepting the fact that I'm a paradox lol. it must be my aspects that make me so different

I could be completely wrong, but doesn't what you describe sound a bit like sag mars? Doesn't really want to confront, but will if necessary. But I'm not as good at sag marses as I probably should be, seeing as I grew up with about ten classmates with sag mars. π

lol maybe! the reading I've done on it is that we talk out of our ass and if we hurt people in the process we feel bad since it wasn't intentional. From the other Sag Mars I know the avoiding confrontation can also be true. they avoid it typically but have no issue with fueling a confrontation once it's started. lol definitely sounds like me! normally I'm conscious of what I say though so I don't hurt others but sometimes it slips through the cracks.

My ascendant in Leo is extremely dominant in my personality and has been since say 13? i remember as a child i was very quiet and shy but i dont even see it as a outer part of me more like and inner really.

Around may 2012 I started taken interest with birth charts of astrology. Poor mom, I asked multiple times about the time (because I figured out she gave me the wrong one when I though I was Leo Rising & Pisces moon) until suddenly my mind pops up at begin 2014 as I got flashbacks from big history list of visiting doctor (including the birth time). My ex sag pointed me out that I was not patient person at all in which I realized that I have different moon (while he was trying to verbal abusing me). So Aries moon is quite correct (& proud of it) and then suddenly Libra rising because I got clear flashback of doctor list. Through that it fits the whole chart thing of mine. π
Ah. Did you get your birth certificate in the end, or are you going from memory? It's difficult!
May I ask, do you identify with your libra rising? Can you feel a stronger or weaker impact from it now than before?

I have many aspect towards Libra Rising. Including hard aspect as Uranus & Venus square ASC & Opposite Moon. I might have horrible stylish, lazy to wear make up. But I have becoming to take care of my skin. But being gorgeous doesn't matter to me (because I knew I'm looking average or ugly). Isn't it possible to send for a birth certificate? I'm saying this because I spent most of my life thinking I was born a different time of the day than I actually was, and I don't want that for you.

i guess it's only fair to state my pov of how it all started.as a child, i started out being extremely shy. i can remember as far back as a 4 year old child in child developement. i didn't want to go outside in the playground to play with the other kids because all i wanted to do was go back home to my moma. i remember crying and both my child developement teachers asked me what wrong? you don't want to play with the other kids? then as i grew into high school, i was still shy but not no where near shy as i was in preschool and elementary school. i was quiet still. always was quiet pretty much all my life really but became quite confidence with the girls and somehow ended up with 25 girlfriends in high school despite being bullied.
and now as a full grown adult, i've became homebound. a hermit if you will. so attached to home and family. so i guess my libra rising shined in high school. and i don't have a clue as to what placement made me shy and quiet as a child. can't be gemini sun. soooooo......now to this very day, i carry traits of the rising thing. libra rising makes me musically inclined, handsome, quiet, sweet, charming.
my physical ailments include constant lower back pains, weak bladder, sluggish/lack of energy and that's not including ailments involving my sugar glands which libra is immuned to all that's listed.
I'm thinking if it could perhaps be your cancer bits that made/makes you shy? I don't know. I'm sorry about your physical ailments, but I'm happy you are where you want to be in life.

no, it never been the same haha! as a child I was real weird child, never cry, just living in my own world and obsessed with power rangers. as teen I was weird too, I never felt that I 'fit' in and it never bothered me so that's aqua. now, I'm a bit odd still, i say lots of stuff that are odd, I like odd things. still I feel like I'm a bit of all my sun sign, rising and moon. but yeah, my rising play a huge role.
I guess its the same degree of 'oddness' but its expressed in different ways as I grow up lol!
