Just the other day I was thinking about whether some star signs are riskier than others. Some people tend to like to stay at home with their feet up nursing a hot drink while others like to jump off bridges with bungee cords attached to their legs. I think I fall somewhere in the middle, but I wonder whether sun signs and astrology have anything to do with it.
My sun sign is Pisces: the fish. While I don’t think we are particularly well-known risk-takers, being more associated with introversion, imagination and creativity, I think every star sign expresses some degree of risk-taking. My risks usually happen when I get a thirst for adventure. Once I am out of my “container,” I start to flow more freely through the world. Oh, and I also used to play online poker for a living.
Are some signs riskier than others?
There’s no way to know for sure. Maybe we could do a survey here on DXP? Nevertheless, it would make sense that the fire signs were the most natural risk-takers. Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are all known to thrive off excitement. They may be more likely to gamble and enjoy the feelings that happen in the brain during poker and other forms of wagering. Leo is known to be the king or queen of drama, and risk is usually more dramatic than playing it safe. Fire signs are also known to be volatile.
For fire signs, risks may be deliberate or just a result of a carefree attitude to life, which is why they seem to be the likely risk-takers of the zodiac. Of course, risk can be good or bad. It just depends on how you use it I guess.
Do certain signs take certain risks?
As well as the fire signs, I think certain signs of the zodiac might be attracted to certain types of risk. For example, Gemini is well known for their inconsistent and impulsive nature. They may act hastily and make life-changing decisions in seconds like switching jobs or a house. Scorpio, on the other hand, loves variety and new experiences, and may get bold if they want to “live a little.” The usually slow but steady Taurus, however, might take more risks in love when their senses take over!
When it comes to money, Scorpio often takes an instinctual and competitive approach to investment, but it is Sagittarius who might be the most natural gambler. They are ruled by lucky Jupiter, and may be the most likely sign to enjoy a few hands of online poker or a spin down at the casino. Cancer, on the other hand, values financial security and reliability, and may not fancy wagering money on Texas Hold ‘Em or Omaha Hi-Lo!
There was even a rumor flying around that the FBI had published data about crime and star signs (articles are still flying around), which stated the star signs that are most likely to carry out specific crimes, though I’m pretty sure this turned out to be fake.
Are there any risk-averse signs?
There are certain signs that I expect would be more risk-averse than others. If fire signs are the risk takers, then maybe earth signs (Virgo, Taurus and Capricorn) are the strong and sturdy people who play it safe and steady, and rarely participate in online poker or risks in life?
Although some of it might depend on the star sign, everyone is also an individual with their own genetic makeup and life experience, which can all influence how we think and feel about taking certain risks at certain times. Pisces are not well known for gambling, but I ended up playing online poker for years. I take risks when I’m on the move, but when I’m in one place, I tend to play it safe.
