A friend of mine got really mad at me when I told her I wasn't up for the idea of adoption saying I want to have my own kids one day. I didnt have more of an explanation than that which made me think hmmm is this a morally shame-able thing?

Supposedly adoption is ruled by the 11th house with some 5th house influence:

How do you guys feel about adoption, would you do it, not do it? Do you feel a person's choice of adoption is morally shame-able?

List your 11th house cusp and if you have any planets there and same for 5th house:

Me: Saturn in Gemini 11th house, saggitarius 5th house and have north node in capricorn there

I totally would. I have 5 adopted siblings and 4 biological siblings and love them all equally.

However, ^^ that being said, I do think it is one of the most selfless yet selfish things a person can do. Especially International adoption, which is what my family did. The prospective parents get to "pick out" their child, while the adoptee gets absolutely no say whatsoever. They are also being taken out of an environment where everyone looks and sounds like them and understands their situation.

A lot of patience and adjustment, coupled with a complete lack of ego, is needed by the adoptive family and comminity.

11th house cusp - Taurus / Gemini. No planets.

5th house - Scorpio Saturn and Sagittarius Uranus.

I'd prefer to adopt, simply because I feel that the world is already over populated and this IS NOT a world I'd feel comfortable bringing my own child into.

House cusp - 11th Starts in Virgo.

Empty 11th
^ that.

plus, I feel like it's wasteful to produce more humans when there are so many pre-existing humans going to waste (for lack of a better way to put it) because they don't have families to raise and nurture them.

Bonus is it spares my body from trauma and I can skip the 24/7 screaming and crying infant phase. :p

it is a personal choice - so don't worry about who does or doesn't like your personal choices - people feel that way about abortion also - we are not all the same thankfully!

I don't know my cusps and houses and nodes - sorry, hopefully soon, I found an astrology book and I need to read up

I don't think it's shameable. I think it's personal preference. Some might enjoy going through pregnancies. Some might not. It's also natural to desire kids that look like you and your significant other (tho you might have some strong leo in you lel).

Adoption can be a topic where people have the tendency to judge your morals since it's like a no-brainer humanitarian thing to do. But it's fact not everyone's fit to be a parent in this world. Everyone also has different tolerance and wants. After all, genetically modified babies and artificial insemination are a real thing.

I also think those who harshly judge others on not adopting should have adopted kids of their own first. It's so easy to say you'd be for it, but actually going through with it is a completely separate action. Until then, you'd be no different than a person personally against it. That's the reality.

I once mentioned that...but partner also has to be up for it.. He isnt..its funny how people talk big things and appear to sympathize with the orphans.. Needy.. But when it comes to doing something real the balls disappear.
sorry and yes - we sympathize but then we turn right around - we are spoiled ... it seems overwhelming and yet if each one of us just helped one other, then the world might be a better place

I'd be up for it if I had my shiz together and was financially stable and all that jazz. I grew up in a single mother household with many people who aren't blood related but I still consider them family...so family to me has nothing to do with blood-relation necessarily. If I could adopt a child and be there for them then why wouldn't I? Just my opinion though, everybody is different, doesn't mean I have to be a judgmental bitch to them just because they have a differing opinion. 🙂

11th house in Libra. 5th house in Aries, Mars in the 5th house.

Yes, I would consider adopting one child in the future. I don't want to have kids to begin with though, if that matters. 11th house Cancer , 5th house Capricorn. I don't know how to see if I have any planets there.

It has been my experience that most (not all) adopt out of a desire to have

kids-- not to help and give a good life to a child who really needs it.

If that were the case, then they would all foster kids who weren't newborns,

regardless of race or culture (etc, etc).

That said, there's nothing wrong with wanting your own.

Most people are hardwired with that desire.

It's really no one else's business how you choose to do this.
