How do I describe it the best!? 🤔 I’m not even past the preface... [hence my initial emphasis on “trying to get into it!” 0.o]... and it already feels like mental self-flagellation. Granted, in no small part due to the time it was written and corresponding believes that were in keeping with that era.
I can already tell there are/will be plenty of dichotomous views for me to dredge trough! But I wouldn’t be the full fledged Pisces if I didn’t inflict mental torment upon myself! 😂

yeahhh you know me well ....i don´t celebrate these forced events. besides that, i was looking after a furry baby puppy and was in my own bubble anyhow 😄

But tell me more about that furry baby you baby sat!? Is it that German Shepard (or a mix of some sort) you shared pics a while back? Either way, bless your heart for doing so! I’m sure his/her owner(s) are deeply appreciative. My biggest obstacle to traveling are my babies.
There, of course, is kennel option but I found the hard way how terribly stressful it is to them. I wish my neighbors across the road still lived here as we used to watch each other’s fur babies when needed. Now that they moved away, I’m somewhat stuck between the rock and a hard place. Oh well!
Update on my hair-do!!! 😢 I totally underestimated the sheer quantity of my hair. I have to order more bleach. Top half of my hair is yellow and the back half still brunette! *sighs* Paradise bird all over again! LoL
As far as my tenacity goes, I can be when I’m passionate about something but in this case, if I were entirely honest, it was curiosity more than anything.
That said, I stopped at a thrift store the other day and happened upon a book sale. Got 3 hard covers books for a $ 1,- ! One of them is
which I can’t wait to get my hands on but for now, I put the American democracy dry as F book 📚 on a back burner in place of ...
I have to say it reads like a dream! I even ordered me a clip on book light last night because apparently it’s only past midnight that I can find any free time to read! 0.o
So much to me getting past the preface lol 😂
Right now I’m off to watch Monty Don’s gardening show! It’s my little, not so secret, escape during this extraordinarily wet weather!? Can’t wait for spring (since we barely had any snow this season :/) to dive back into gardening.

2020, for me, has started in a manner not worth writing home about, but hope springs eternal and I’ll gladly toast to that 😁
As for your own unexpected blessing in a form of a pupper, a) I will be on my way to the animal appreciation thread right after this post and
b) you hit the nail on the head with the observation of receiving that which you did not know you wanted, but clearly needed.
Often times, I find, hind-site is 20/20 since we generally tend to be too busy wondering “why” as it is happening, which is why I’m delighted to hear you were able to enjoy that little fur balls company as you revelled in each other’s presence! 💕❤️
I’m unfamiliar with your own extend of having pets, but what will never cease to amaze me is how each one of them has their own, distinct personality!! Be it a cat or a dog. And though they tend to be a lot of work, such is redeemed by their sheer existence.
Speaking with of which, just last night, as I went to bed, oddly no cat demanded to curl up next to me as they so frequently do, and I rejoiced in the fact that I’d have the entire bed to myself. 45min into my attempt to fall asleep, I realized how much I missed their purring. Lo and behold, there comes one of them ready to claim their throne next to my head lol What can I say, at this time, it’s a symbiotic existence 🤣
As for the Slav heritage, I’ve come to embrace more physical trademarks than just abundant hair, but I’m not gonna lie, older I get, the more I’m appreciative of it...if you got it- flaunt it!! Screw it 🤷🏻♀️😎
While in the subject of hair, balayage is still very much in, except, mine was in reverse 😂😂 but I’m happy to report I had it corrected earlier this evening. Got my Schwarzkopf bleach and wella toners.
Though there is still some brassy pigments left over due to previous darker dyes, it actually turned surprisingly well considering “I” did it myself. Peeewww.... crisis averted! 🤓 I guess it’s sage to say, paradise bird left for warmer climate! 😂
Moving onto the books, I never thought of it that way, but you are sooo right, my goddess, it really isn’t worth investing time into literature that brings you no enjoyment. With me, in those instances, it turns into personal challenge but I think I’m over it now that it showed me the light! 😁
I do have one left ( Beccaria’s “On Crime & Punishment”) I’d like to peruse, but I’m finding the language/format with which it was written challenging to fully grasp. Or, it could, perhaps, be one of those bodies of writing which requires dissecting and explaining by someone better versed in/with law and justice system than my own. 🤷🏻♀️
At any rate, I noticed your latest, above, contribution to the thread, and oh my, though I’m fully aware author used the stray cat as an allegory, my immediate, knee-jerk reaction was...

I stumbled upon a video on YouTube of this antique appriser lady (with PhD)... long story short...a lady in the audience brought a book to he appraised and apparently her husband paid $ 10,- for it at an estate sale only to have its value estimated at $ 4000,-. Im like what nelly do I need rub, to get that lucky!? Haha...
