Cancer Fiancee Had An Emotional Affair

Hey everyone.. I've never posted a question in a forum, so please bare with me! I have been with my Cancer man for 10 yrs and we have a wonderful little boy together. I recently found out that he's been on a dating website since December 2017. Later to find out that he did connect with one of the women and met up with her once. After the girl reached out to me, I confronted him. He told me that he was really into her. I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. I felt like something had been off with us and I was really trying to reconnect emotionally with him. WELL I guess my gut feeling was right, but on the other hand I just never thought he was capable of this. The other woman told me and him that she was not interested in him. So he decided to stay with me. Just feeling like life is completely turned upside down at the moment. I love him and want him, but I don't like feeling like second choice. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank You!

I was already not really feeling him anymore for other reasons (he's a pos).

He was working later than normal for a while.

I felt something was off.

I went through his phone.

Found dick pics and text messages. The girl worked with him, and knew he was married. She didn't care.

That was on a Saturday.

I calmly went to him and told him on Monday, I'd be filing for divorce.

And I did.

I don't have time for that shit. I have 2 daughters, and I want them to EXPECT respect. That shit is not a novelty.

We were together for 7 years, married for 5.

Took me a whole day to get over him.

I didn't want to update my post, cause people like to give out super biased advice here. But, I have officially ended things with him. We want 2 different things at this point in our lives. Or maybe he just doesn't like me. Either way, I had to let him go.

When a kid is involved, it's not so cut and dry as you all want to make believe it is. Every decision you make affects that child as well. It's so easy to tell them to leave. But it's not so easy for a mom to make a decision to break her child's home apart.

I don't think the op should be treated wrong in any way. I believe she deserves better in this life. But it's not so cut and dry for those with kids. I also think he's a piece of shit because his actions impact his child and he isn't thinking about that.

You all are always too fast to criticise the man, oh look a man, crucify him.

I would try to get over the pain a bit and if i still want to fight for him i would sit him down and have a conversation, because after 10years ghosting or having childish arguments would not resolve anything

2. There’s a child involved so that’s priority.

TALK! Find out what is missing, hey what more can we do to work it out, what approach should we take? Perhaps we’re in a rut, how do we fix it. What do you like now that you didn’t like 10years ago, what makes you feel loved and appreciated?

Especially if you want to work things out.

I haven’t said anyone should stick to a cheater like glue and maybe its cultural difference, but if i had kids? I would ask to see if someones willing to work it out before i leave.

Too many similar situations. This isn’t a new storyline that would make one go oh wow thats new. Nope, if anything its a classic.

There was much more to my story. There is usually much more to a parent's story when deciding to leave. Nobody actually thinks, "Yep, I'd like to be a single mom. That shit's easy, and won't have an effect on the children at all!"

This is a post on its own, I haven't changed a thing nor put it out of context, you are blaming the person (EDIT: no, you are targeting women for some reason) who leaves a marriage of their children's psychological problems instead of the person who creates them.

I've read the first comment in which you do the same.

You play devil's advocate trying to excuse person who has decided to cheat instead of voicing their discomfort, leaving or trying another route, putting the responsability of fixing it on the other person.

You can be a wonderful parent and still choose to leave a person who doesn't respect you, being good to yourself is more necessary to be a good parent. I'm not saying you must leave, but don't ever put the blame of the separation on the one who is cheated because is not true.

When a kid is involved, it's not so cut and dry as you all want to make believe it is. Every decision you make affects that child as well. It's so easy to tell them to leave. But it's not so easy for a mom to make a decision to break her child's home apart.

I don't think the op should be treated wrong in any way. I believe she deserves better in this life. But it's not so cut and dry for those with kids. I also think he's a piece of shit because his actions impact his child and he isn't thinking about that.
