My Gemini Best Friend/Her Cancer Man

My best friend has been with her cancer man for 3 years and for the second time since they’ve been together, he asked for space. Last time it lasted 2 weeks and this time, it seems like it’s lasting longer. I told her to give him the space he asked for but it’s extremely hard for her. They live together and he is sleeping on the couch now instead of in the bed with her, he barely talks to her and he doesn’t text her or call her like that anymore. She is constantly asking him questions because she wants to know what she did wrong and how they got to this point and all he can say to her is that they need to be friends and work towards the relationship and that he still loves her but the chemistry isn’t there right now. He has been avoiding coming home as well as leaving out whenever she comes in. She really wants him to open up to her and win him back. What’s the best way she can go about getting a cancer man to open up and talk to her and also get their relationship back on good terms?

What is the breakdown as far as who pays what for the place. Aka is he living there for free or paying much less. If he is depending on her for a roof over his head he won't rock the boat too much until he can set up his next place to crash at.

Idk, sleeping on the couch, ignoring her efforts to communicate, avoiding her, my mind is going straight to he's cheating and caught feels for someone else.

Also hate to be a dick....but if she can't get the dude she lives with and been with for the last 3 years to communicate with her... theres really nothing any of us can say that would be a magic wand to make him suddenly want to open up.
